Stayed with children and grandchildren. Excellent hotel with good old fashioned values like good service and friendly staff. Nice afternoon tea in drawing room followed by very good dinner in restaurant. Staff good with grandchildren and very helpful even though hotel was full. Good breakfast and great views from dining room in morning.

Room tip: Sea view best

Just stayed here for a work conference and really enjoyed the stay. Right on the sea front with fantastic views.

Great food and beautiful spotless rooms.

Would recommend and will now look to book for a weekend away 😀

I believe we were greeted by Claire, who was delightful. I was trying to book on my phone but she kindly took over and did it for me on the hotel system. We paid a little extra for a sea view (so glad we did as shared a vino just looking out onto the bay as it became dark)
We were told the sea view rooms had not yet been refurbished.... could have fooled me as it was lovely. Our room was no. 219.
On this occasion we paid £99 per night which included the sea view and a very good breakfast. All staff were very pleasant and so friendly.
Amazing staircase with natural lighting coming from a dome skylight.

Room tip: we had sea view 2nd floor 219 which I would request if I visit again.

This hotel has a wonderful situation right on the sea front facing Tynemouth beach and its elevation therefore affords superb sea views. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped and the food in the bar, lounge and restaurant is very good, albeit the afternoon teas are a little "skimpy", and perhaps a few more sandwiches and less cake might be a good idea. Generally though food wise, one will not starve and service is quite good. Overall the hotel is well worth the price paid, although on the basis that first impressions count, it is a pity one must "walk though an ashtray" to enter the hotel itself. The mess left by smokers, let alone having to run the the gauntlet of smokers clustered around the front door does, I am afraid, leave much to be desired, especially at the weekends when weddings appear to take priority. If you are planning a weekend away, with a quiet dinner for two and time relaxing in the hotel lounge bar, watching the sunset overlooking Tynemouth Bay, think again, because you will be down the pecking order.

Room tip: Rooms to the rear. At weekends perhaps the Annex might give a better chance of quiet times!

Good afternoon thank you for your comments, all your comments have been taken on board but I can assure you that we do not put weddings above everyone else all are equal and that's why we have separate departments to look after different areas.
