I stayed her for a week in June 2012, and it was just like entering the most charming atmosphere for the first to the last second.
The Hotel building itself is very old, but really carries it's age with lot of style. I had a lovely big room, with a lovely bed.
The food was just the most fantastic experience, and it was so delicious and well prepared in each detail through out all the meals.
One night we ate at The restaurant Nimb in Copenhagen town, and it could not at all compare with the hotel!
The hotel surrounding also was most fantastic, with the sea just a cross the road, were it was possible to go long walks, run, exercise, cycle, or whatever. The "Strandvejen" area is very beautiful, weith lot f traditiona Danish architecture being taken very professional care of.
It really was an experience staying at this lovely hotel for a whole week.

Since we knew the restaurant, we decided to stay over in this hotel. We booked the family room with two seperate rooms for us and our two small children. The room was an entire disappointment. Only one children's bed fitted into the so-called 2nd room which was in fact the walk-through room to the bath room. When we approached the reception about our disappointment she said that she would not be authorized to make us an offer that would satisfy us and we should write to the owner, who's e-mail she gave to us! We did so, but never got a response from the owner!!

It is a shame how such a great historic hotel with a great restaurant has been run down, is under-invested (needs urgently renovation) and is apparently poorly managed.

We will surely not come again.
Only for dinner.

I have been here privately, I have been here with customers, I have been here for drinks, for full meals, for my honeymoon night of bliss.
And through many years when Tufa ws in management, I have never been let down.
A special thank also to Gerome in the restaurant, for being so nice to my daughter and keeping professional , even if personal. Try the scallops!

Given the high-end location, the inviting exterior of the hotel's main building and the stylish interior design of the lounge and restaurant, I had higher expectations on what was delivered: In summary it is mediocre.

Dirty glasses and dishes were not cleared in the lounge from previous guests. Main course totally oversalted, dry and if it was not for the salt: tasteless. Staff arguing with host's request in front of guests (trying to prove that the guest was wrong).

Receptionists speaking so loud with other staff that the lounge experience becomes much less relaxing and actually a quite painful experience.

The place should have great potential, but it needs serious focus on quality and the GUEST.

Historical Hotel close to the beach, nice walking distance to the city centre, 15 min. walk to Denmark's Aquarium.

Aquarium is located on the beautiful grounds of Charlottenlund Slotshave.

Hotel is old, two stories building with balconies, clean rooms, new style bathrooms. It has a great restaurant, dinner was very good, fresh and first class service.
We loved it and would stay here again.
