My husband and I have been house hunting in Tennessee. Our 21' Jayco travel trailer is our "tiny house" on wheels for our search. We chose the KOA campground, known as the Bristol/Kingsport KOA for our first few days and then after going to a KOA 2-hours away in Clinton, TN, we came back and stayed again at the Bristol/Kingsport KOA for a few more days.
Our camp site required us to "back-in" but they have pull-through sites available too. One of their staff members, Drew in his golf cart, led us to our site and assisted us with backing into our space. His assistance was greatly appreciated.
Although it was just the two of us, the campground was family friendly. In addition to a swimming pool (which we did not use), there was an area for children to play.
It is a very small campground. You can hear some highway noise in the distance but it is bearable (we've heard much worse). Each camp site comes with a fire ring. Wood, food, snacks, etc. can be purchased from the KOA restaurant/store on premises. We didn't try anything but I understand that they will deliver food to your camp site during certain hours.
It's a great place to stop for a few days or a week, if touring the area. The staff was very helpful. Some nights, maybe just Saturday, they played music at the pavilion. Somewhat loud but it...My husband and I have been house hunting in Tennessee. Our 21' Jayco travel trailer is our "tiny house" on wheels for our search. The only thing I'd recommend to the new owners would be to update and improve the restrooms/showers. Otherwise, a very pleasant place to stay. We would stay there again.
P.S. Be prepared for a wake-up call from the resident "Donkey."More
