Fabulous overnight stay at the hotel on the Drayton Manor Park site. Well equipped and very light and modern with Thomas the Tank embellishments on the walls. Lots for a 3 year old to look at and even a shop in the foyer.
This place is set up for families. Lots of space, no awkward doors for buggy navigation; convenient lifts; superb, accessible, safe, play areas, set in woodland; accessible free parking right outside the hotel and relaxed bar area and terrace to sit on during the evening overlooking the play area and woodlands.
Breakfast is set up for families, lots of space again, lots of high chairs and a big selection of sensible breakfast items, with warming facilities for baby food and plastic cutlery. There is enough space for everyone even at busy times. Sara who was working that morning couldn't do enough for all the families in that room and she tried to ensure everyone was comfortable and fed.
This is one of the only hotels I've been to with my 3 year old and not felt uncomfortable and felt the need to tell him relentlessly to sit down and be quiet. This is a place with children at the forefront of the experience.
We only visited the Grill bar onsite, who again fitted us in without reservation, served the food quickly, which was reasonably priced and all the young waiting staff were helpful and pleasant. Again conveniently located and with children in mind. Good menu items for children not all fizzy drinks and chips.
Only criticism is the "one" toaster in the breakfast area. Most little children eat toast so this caused a considerable queue, but this is a problem in every hotel I've ever been to. Just buy another toaster, problem solved.
The room was spacious, modern and airy and fitted with a good size bathroom. Plus a small fridge which all families with young children and babies appreciate.
Thomas land was fabulous. Totally aimed at preschoolers but there is the rest of the park for the other members of the family. Again food and drinks reasonably priced for a theme park and lots of modern, clean toilets with lots of baby changing space and lower sinks for toddlers. Amazing adventure playground located at the end of the train line located near a well stocked cafe and toilets. Kids snack boxes available with lots of choice.
A Fabulous day out and stop over and all reasonably priced. Even cheaper of you use your Tesco/ Sainsburys rewards to gain entry to the park.
