Okay to begin with, I paid much cheapness so got what I paid for. I used Icelolly.com for the first time last minute so not sure what actual price I paid for accommodation as it was an all in price with flights. I'm guessing I paid 20p per night as it was only £613 for 2A 1Ch including flights during Scottish School holidays last minute. We stayed in room 211 which was a studio and looks like it was recently decorated in 1980 going by the style and grouting around the tiles. There was only room for 3 single beds then the little dinette kitchen. Admittedly we only spent sleep time in here but for our 4 night 5 day stay, we had no maid service whatsoever. No towel change or any cleaning. I'm guessing that's what I get for going cheap. The wife coped only just. Didn't try any hotel facilities as it's not got that feel and was all a bit dated. Can't work out if people actually live there too. Again as has been stated walls are paper thin so lots of noisy inconsiderate neighbours.
What we did do was eat out at Fuengirolas many superb restaurants and go to the great beach every day.
There is an excellent local Tapas 'Tipi Tapas' right next to hotel and this was excellent. Out main entrance, turn left, cross road.
The beach is about a 5-8 min walk. The plethora of eateries are all along the front however the best places to eat are one street back from the main as well as up lots of little alleyways so have a good wander. Plenty choice of cuisines for all nationalities and tastes.
Would go back to Fuengirola but next time I'll dig deeper into the wallet for better accommodation as room cleaning and towel change is a basic requirement unless I'm in a tent!!!

This budget priced hotel clean comfortable and very well run by Juan. The beds so important on holiday, Comfortable mattress firm, sheets crisp clean thick cotton, and the girls attending to the apartments polite and nothing to much trouble. Asked for a corkscrew in the room, there in exactly five minutes, also a non slip mat for the bath shower, there' brand new' same day of request, Thank you Juan, Top Man.

Room tip: we had a superior double south facing, flat screen tv with six English channels

It was a ine week trip with my girlfriend. We asked for a sea view room and we got it. THe reception was very kind and helpful. There is a supermerket next door and it was an easy access for us max 2 minutes walk. The beach is in walking distance just as the restaurants. I can recommend this place to everyone.

We booked a few days at the Veramar at (by our standards) very short notice. It was a budget break - and this is what we got. As others have said, the apartments (certainly ours) could do with a bit of TLC & a paint job. However - and this is the big, positive, but - we weren't expecting luxury. The bedroom was plenty big enough, with a side-board & dining table as well as the two beds (we had to push them together to create a double). We had a balcony - not great views, but extra sitting space on hot days. No problems at all with the bathroom. We had a fully fitted kitchen which we would have made use of had we been staying longer than four nights. The apartments are in a quiet part of town and are just over 5 minutes walk from the sea and some 15 minutes from the main eating & shopping areas. There is a bakery & a big supermarket within 200 yards.

These are great apartments in a great places. We stay here twice a year, staff are friendly and welcoming. You have two bars/restaurants on site and loads more within a 10 minute walk. The beach is about 5 minute walk and there is a great zoo nearby as well.
