The restaurant was clean and service was very good. The lamb on the sandwiches were patties, not the kind of lamb they carve off in long pieces. It was very relaxing and they did not rush us out. The falafel was delicious and we all enjoyed it. We like the atmosphere of the restaurant.

We (the family) have been here several times and we enjoy it each time. The cafe is somewhat small (not a lot of tables) which adds to the cozy atmosphere.

The food is excellent and there are choices for everyone's tastes. It is worth going to for a first time visit and it is a place worth returning to.

My wife and I traveled from Rutland Vermont just to check out the renowned cuisine of Mamoun's. It was definitely worth the trip. I had a great lamb dish and my wife had the falafel. We were both very pleased.
Most likely Rutland will be getting about 100 middle eastern immigrants settling in the area this year. I think a great first step to get to know another culture is to try the food. I would enjoy to have a restaurant liked this in my neighborhood.

I don 't live or work in Albany, so I don't get to Mamoun's as often as I'd like. We stopped in last Sunday for a quick lunch. After warming up with some delicious hot tea, we dug in to our meals; first a babaganoush appetizer. I'm not a huge eggplant fan, but I've been using babaganoush as my entry-level eggplant lately, and Mammon's babaganoush was nicely presented, garlicky & smoky - I'm starting to like eggplant. My falafel salad featured perfectly fried falafel balls and a nice crisp salad; I would have liked a bit more tahini, next time I'll ask for an extra. My BF had the falafel/kufta pita, which was great - especially if you can't decide what you want. I love the decor, too. The building has an incredible tin ceiling and an old bar that feels like it was a speakeasy at one point in its' life.

We had a desire for middle eastern food and decided to try this long established restaurant. We were warmly greeted and pleasantly surprised by our experience. The food was fantastic, served with warm pita. The eggplant dishes are particularly tasty. And don't forget to try dessert!
