I don 't live or work in Albany, so I don't get to Mamoun's as often as I'd like. We stopped in last Sunday for a quick lunch. After warming up with some delicious hot tea, we dug in to our meals; first a babaganoush appetizer. I'm not a huge eggplant fan, but I've been using babaganoush as my entry-level eggplant lately, and Mammon's babaganoush was nicely presented, garlicky & smoky - I'm starting to like eggplant. My falafel salad featured perfectly fried falafel balls and a nice crisp salad; I would have liked a bit more tahini, next time I'll ask for an extra. My BF had the falafel/kufta pita, which was great - especially if you can't decide what you want. I love the decor, too. The building has an incredible tin ceiling and an old bar that feels like it was a speakeasy at one point in its' life.
