I booked the hotel through booking, were it said that there was a guarded parking area and you could pay at check out. Well, the guarded parking is 10 spaces outside the hotel, no guard anywhere (at least there is a guard at the embassy around the corner) and the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, there aren't even decent roads to get there. We were asked to pay the full amount for 6 days upon check in "because i can't run behind you if yoy don't pay" as the manager said. The building is tacky, nothing like in the pictures and so are the rooms. It looks as if it's abandoned. Both lamps on nightstands were broken and were never replaced, despite the twice a day complaints, the breakfast was below average, most of the people that work there don't speak English and on Friday night there was this party somewhere on the first floor with teenagers screaming and music so loud it was impossible to sleep. The receptionist told us she couldn't do anything as there was a birthday party! We were forced to check out on 11 pm!!! Horrible hotel, horrible attitude.

For,
The fact that there was room available, the outside of the building was really nice, bathroom was nice (although you had to shower quickly or not enough hot water) and fresh towels supplied the 3rd day we were there,

Against,
The room was not furnished as advertised, no Microwave, no kettle, every shelf in the fridge was broken. fully fitted kitchen but 2 cups (that I had to go ask for at reception and was answered with this is not a 5 star hotel, i pointed out to them that its advertised) Damp in the lounge and general damp smell throughout, tired furniture, bed in on suit was for really old and impossible to sleep on. German Shepard dog went for my 6 year old, and with a lot of shouting left, Wifi kept dropping and was slow, Lobby, bar and lounge stank of smoke (and I smoke but alway outside) would I stay there again, Big No.....

Room tip: Perhaps better room in main hotel but the apartments we had were not as advertised,

I went to Sofia with few friends and we were told about this place, its al title out the way but its worth it in terms of price and service. The double rooms are really big and the mini bar if fully stocked. They serve breakfast and tell you the best places to go.

I found it very comfortable, quite, clean and very kind and heartly people serving there. The only problem is it's location, esspeccially if you're for the first time in Sofia you hardly can find the Ajax Hotel location. The owners need to spend some money in advertisment and everything will be excellent.

P.S. very convenient prices.
