Restaurant service erratic, sometimes good, sometimes poor and food selection in buffet uninspiring after a couple of days

Room comfortable and clean, the housekeeping staff do a good job although they start quite early. Sea-view rooms worth paying the bit extra.

Hotel is well located about 1km walk around harbour from Rab town or a short ride in water-taxi. Some pleasant coastal walks. Unfortunately, a rather tired, end of season air to the hotel when we stayed.

Visited late September, the hotel was soon to close for the season and to have a refit and upgrade for next year. Hope this will bring it back up to scratch.

Room tip: Choose seaview

Delightful location across Rab harbour from the attractive medieval town. Water taxis just outside hotel to go to Rab. Food and rooms good. Nice pool. Safe swimming in the sea very near by but protect your feet with cheap beach shoes Try for sea view room. Friendly warm staff. Evening entertainment was very pleasant and unsophisticated. The view across the harbour from the bar terrace is stunning. Try to get a photo from here at sunset. All in all a relaxing and delightful week

We have reserved accommodation first minute and therefore the price at the beginning of the season was very favorable. In fact I think we were the only domestic guests on that moment. Hotel, as it look like, works its last season and on late autumn is going to be drastically remodeling. Knowing this before the arrival, our expectations were not too high. Room for two adults and two children on extra bed is a bit small, but since we only slept there, it was quite ok. Cleanliness and maintenance was it accordance with our habits. For girls it was a pleasure outdoor pool with entertainment which could possibly have a seawater but maybe i'm bit spoiled because the sea is only a few dozen meters away. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, an particular I want to mention the host of entertainment programs and always for a joke ready waiters. In the hotel there is a wellness area which I think is not used enough throughout the year but it is actually the entire problem of island a Sleeping Beauty

A very typical, huge 3* hotel, nothing special about it. The rooms are ok, with new, comfortable mattresses and uncomfortable pillows. Bathrooms are clean, but take your own shower gel/shampoo because theirs is bad. The air-conditioning is erratic and no amount of tampering will make it work the way you want. The food is good, especially the breakfast. The staff are helpful most of the time. The location of the hotel is great, the rooms have a wonderful view, and it is only a 10-minute walk to the centre of Rab (or you can take a taxi-boat, 10 kn per person).

Room tip: View from the higher floors is amazing

First, the good news. If you are lucky to get a room on the 4th or 5th floor facing the harbour, then you are in for a treat. This was probably the best ever view I have had from a hotel balcony. It’s worth paying the extra. Also, the pool area at the front of the hotel was first class and there was plenty of room for everybody. The stroll into town was a delight from the hotel, and there was a water taxi to take you across to the other side of the harbour by way of alternative. There was also a bike hire shop about 100 yards away from the front of the hotel which was run by charming people who charged very reasonable prices. Make sure you get the chance to cycle through the town and follow the track by the side of the inlet all the way to the forest. There is a photo opportunity in every direction.

Now, the not so good news. I know that there are plans for the hotel to be upgraded, but really, this should have been done long ago. The place looks rather tired and this seems to have had a knock-on effect with the staff. The whole place reminded me of a communist students’ halls of residence and on a bad day the dining room could be likened to a students’ canteen.

May I suggest that the hotel management organises some mystery shopping so some quick wins can be identified prior to the facelift.
