It was a very nice experience and everyone loved their dinner choices. I was leary to get the stip steak as I am very fussy and usually restaurants don't do them well but this was outstanding!!! I ate every last bite! I would highly recommend...it...More

Went to the Basin Grill with friends for the first time and we had a great experience. The host and server were both friendly and professional. Food was fantastic.

We went to this restaurant on Mother's Day. It was not particularly busy, and many tables were empty. We ordered drinks and the waitress brought us another table's drinks. One member of my party ordered an alcoholic beverage and never received it. Our waitress disappeared...right after our appetizer, and an HOUR later we asked another waitress if she could find someone to wait on us. We never received our lunch, were left with empty drink glasses and finally left the restaurant. I would not recommend this establishment.More

We tried The Basin Grill for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised. We thought it may be a 'pub fare only' type of place but it wasn't at all. Impressed by offerings like Buttery Garlic Clams in White Wine, Burratta over Greens with...a Fig Glaze, and Linguine Alle Vongole, we knew we were in for a little beyond average. My husband and I enjoy trying things not readily available elsewhere so we started with Saratoga Chips with Onion Dip and Tater Kegs. The latter were excellent: housemade tots stuffed with cheese and bacon and served with a side of silky Jalapeno ranch dressng, which seemed also to be made in-house. The tots were generously sized and very crisp on the outside - and delicious. The chips, unfortunately, were extremely salty, which ruined the experience, we didn't even taste potatoes, only saline. PLEASE reconsider your recipe for these because they have potential. My order of Short Rib Ravioli with a Sherry Mushroom Sauce was AMAZING. Delicious, flavorful short rib meat encased in each generously-sized raviolo, and lightly bathed in a fabulously flavorful and creamy mushroom sauce. I say 'lightly' because my only complaint about the dish was not enough sauce for my liking. It was sparse, and a couple more tablespoons would have made all the difference, but I'd definitely order it again. My husband's Linguine Vongole (Linguine with clams) was also very good. The clams and shrimp were cooked to perfection. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The entree was piping hot, which is hard to do with delicate seafood. However, my husband is not a fan of mixing seafood with any kind of red sauce and this had a light tomato-picante sauce throughout. On its own, it was very good, but the menu didn't mention any tomatoes in the description so it was an unpleasant surprise. If they had stuck to the menu description, it would have been perfect. The portions are pitch-perfect: not too big or small and we happily had no need for take-away containers. A huge bonus and integral part of a good dining experience is the staff were ALL welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Our waitress, Emily was a gem - very attentive and cheerful. It doesn't matter how great the food is, if service is unpleasant, it's a game-changer. Overall, three cheers fo the Basin Grill for a great kitchen and wait staff, imaginative menu (they DO offer plenty of pub favorites as well), and delicious food. We will be back.More

Our server was wonderful but between swatting away wasps and bees (they definitely have a nest), and the quality of the food, we will never come back. Our appetizers took 30 mins to get to us, those were ok but our meal was just awful....The mahi tacos were flavorless and overcooked and the chicken tacos tasted like the chicken was old and the corn tacos smelled like dirty feet. We took one bite of each and told the server. They didn’t take it off our bill, which is surprising with our feedback. We hate paying for food we didn’t like. Also the lobster roll was delicious but the size of a penny, not worth the money. We will never come back again.More

Someone at a graduation party last weekend mentioned going to the Basin Grill for dinner, so wife and I decided to try it. We've driven by the place dozens of times, but had never really noticed that the restaurant and the yacht club were separate...entities, so this was something of an adventure for us. Our food was very good. Wife had a caesar salad with salmon (as usual), and reported that the salmon was well prepared (perhaps a bit overdone), but the additional of freshly squeezed lemon made up for that minor issue. I had the seafood salad - a collection of cold, marinated clams, mussels, shrimp and crab on a bed of lettuce with lemon and olive oil. I thought my salad was really fabulous - it was a warm night, and I didn't want a heavy meal, and this really hit the spot. We both agree, however, that the prices we were charged were a bit high for the portion sizes. Of course, the prices may have been adjusted to reflect the location - literally on the banks of the Upper Hudson River. Service was very pleasant. However, someone needs to tell the kid who was bussing tables that patrons should be allowed to finish their wine before he grabs the wine glass.More

We weren’t expecting much since most marina restaurants only do burgers and sammies. But I had lobster risotto which was excellent and my friend had short rib ravioli. We also ordered clams as a appetizer and my only complaint is that we could have used...more bread to sop up the wonderful wine broth.More

Today we ate lunch at the Basin and wasn’t sure what to expect. We have never eaten here before. The wife and I had a lovely time eating alongside the Hudson river and marina. The service was excellent, service was quick and the food delicious...and fair price. The chef did a wonderful meal. We had a wonderful experience. Everything very fresh. We will again return no doubt.More

We visited here for the first time Sat 4/30/22. We wanted to get some food & drink after going to Washington County Fairgrounds Antique Fair & Flea Market (more fleas than antiques). But walking around for three hours sure did make us thirsty. The Basin...Grill next to the Schuylerville Yacht Basin was on our way towards the Northway so it was the perfect stop on a nice sunny day. Beautiful outdoor deck next to the Hudson River. And as this was was the first nice spring day we wanted to be outdoors all day. I'll mention here that the yacht club has full marine services for seasonal & transient boaters, RV sites, container cabin rentals, kayaks & paddleboards rentals-all your boating needs. You can tie up to their docks if you are going to The Basin Grill. The Basin Grill was very busy when we got there 3:30pm and it was filling up fast. Our party of six was seated at a comfortable table for eight. OPur server was Lori S. who acknowledged us immediately. She directed a co-worker to bring water to our table as she took our drink orders. Lunch orders placed then & drinks delivered promptly. My Bloody Maria (yes, w/ tequila) was excellent even w/o the usual celery & olives. I had two blackened Cajun Mahi tacos ($6.each)-very good w/ an added splash of Tabasco sauce. Other lunches were burgers w/ a choice of six sides ($14). Salads ($5-13, sm & lg). Sandwiches ($13-18), (lobster roll mkt $). Entrees mac-n-cheese ($14) to steak ($38). Varied fare to suit all tastes & appetites. "Not the cheap stuff Lovey. This is the yacht club." LOL. Total for six lunches, 12 adult beverages, tax & tip was $240. More than fair. By the time we left just at 4:25pm the deck was almost full. There is also an indoor bar & restaurant. Despite the crowd, Lori S and her co-worker did a great job. Hours: M & Tu closed, W,Th, & F 4pm-close, Sa & Su 12pm-close. Plenty of parking. Family friendly. Thank you for an initial good impression. See you again the next time we are that way. And we will recommend to our friends. Nick & Liz & family, Albany, NYMore

The menu is smaller now but we’ll done. My wife liked her chicken club and my shredded beef sandwich was ok. Fries were fresh and very good as was the tomato mozzarella appetizer. Service was friendly and fast. $55 lunch for 2 with one drink....Deck looks very inviting but the bridge is close by and traffic was busy when we were there which is a distraction so sit farther away from bar is better.More

We had heard some good things.... we had seen people waiting... we wanted to try it. I'm glad we did because now we know we won't go back. The atmosphere right on the river was nice enough, staff was wearing masks and tables were well...spread apart, so our first impression was good. I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary that left me wondering if there was any vodka in it at all. Steamed little neck clams were overcooked and overly salty. In contrast, the seafood in my wife's seafood salad was devoid of any salt and therefore rather bland with just an olive oil drizzle. I had what was supposedly short rib ravioli put tasted more like shredded pork and bbq sauce served with what seemed like a canned gravy. Everything was edible, but not even close to producing yummy noises. My meal ended with me asking for the check after sitting 15 minutes waiting for a tap beer. Our server's reaction of a sigh and rolling eyes was the final nail in the coffin. She tried to blame it on them being short a bartender, but I could see the bartender from where I was sitting and she didn't look all that swamped at all. Lesson learned. Best of luck, Basin Grill.More

We sat outside overlooking the river. We the burrata was excellent. The Jeffrey sliced prime rib sandwich was very good, with a large amount of fries. Needed more of that cheese and pepper sauce. crispy onions were yummy on the sandwich. overall good experience!

We slid in a few days before the big Covid-19 shutdown and I’m glad we did. We both had Prime Rib which was HUGE and cooked to perfection, medium rare. The grilled Brussel Sprouts were delicious (I would have liked more of them on the...plate), the salad was Huge (ask for extra dressing because that little cup isn’t nearly enough) and those jalapeño tator tots were very yummy. The service was excellent, price moderate. I can’t wait to go back when the weather is nice and try the riverside outdoor bar. A new favorite place for us definitely.More
