Good place to go to for comfort food. Service was excellent. Pricing fair. Food is fresh. I would definitely go back.

Me and my girlfriend came here for the garbage plate and let me tell you I was not disappointed I have had garbage plates in the past that we're just ok. But this was really good and the food came out in under 10mins. I...also ordered pancakes that were super fluffy, and moist. The picture of the garbage plate is the Jr. Plate. So plenty to share.More
I will eat at Mark's when I am hungry later at night or when I am too tired to cook dinner. Their sky burger is my favorite burger there, and I like their wings combo too. Their pizza logs and mozzarella sticks are always golden...brown to perfection too. The thing about eating there late nights, especially weekends, you find an unsavory element, that seem like they just went out to cause trouble, and feel entitled to abuse the weight staff. They have a security guard on weekends, but one can still worry about their safety.More
If you're there late night there will be a line and there's a bouncer. If you want food faster ask him if you can order to go (there's a spot at the inside counter) although if you have time sit and people watch. That's half...the fun. Plates are really good. Pretty basic but you won't be violently ill the next day from these like some other spots in the cityMore
After a gig on a Sunday night in Rochester, as a hungry traveling musician, this place was a god-send, since not much is open (if at all) this time of night. Had a pretty darned good garbage-plate like plate with burger, mac salad, home fries...and fixings. Definitely a dive, but I love dives!More
First and foremost the staff at this establishment were very personable! I was amazed at the large portions of food that were served for the prices! i took my family of 6 out to eat and four had huge amounts of leftovers; I paid $63...for all of us! Definitely returning to this spot!More
A friend wanted me to join him here for lunch, but I was hesitant because of the area's poor reputation. What a pleasant surprise! I was able to partake of one of my favorite Rochester dishes -- the garbage plate -- in a half portion....Perfectly cooked dog and a spicy and tasty hot sauce. Some of the patrons looked a bit iffy and the decor is positively retro (i.e. never cleaned).More
We've been going to Marks for over 20 years. It was a favorite hang out for our friends in the 80's with their great, simple, and inexpensive diner food. We took our prospective dates there because of the generous portions and greek-style foods too. The...hours - 24/7 - were perfect after a pub crawl. Although we no longer live in the city and our habits have "grown up", when we get the chance, we bring our daughter to Mark's when in the city. Since we haven't been back for about a year, we could not verify they have updated their booths/tables - which were the same from so long ago. But again, the food is worth a return - even if the decor may be dated. On busy nights (summer weekends), parking may be an issue and you may have to find a spot on a side street. Yet, the area is eclectic and safe enough for a stroll down a few short blocks. The area is diverse with bookshops, pubs, antique shops and more. So you may find a treasure along the way.More
Have gone to this place with friends and family and the burgers are good, and breakfast foods are good as well.. Been going there for years no problems since
I was craving junk food at 1 am and my favorite Friendly's was closed. Fired up Yelp and searched for "open" diners. Found this place which apparently is open 24/7 (didn't know a 24/7 place existed in Roch) Located on Monroe it is surrounded by...multiple bars and other businesses. I found street parking in front of the diner. On a Thursday night at 1 am the street was filled with mostly drunk old guys or college kids. The diner itself is an old small-ish diner with no attention to decor/ambiance which is fine. It's that type of a diner. It was filled with people I wouldn't really want to hang out with if you know what I mean. Mostly the drunk lot. It is clearly a hit place for post alcohol food and being open all night helps. Decent sized menu. I got the mini sloppy plate with cheeseburger over macaroni salad and french fries with everything on top. We also ordered home fries and a chocolate peanut butter milk shake. My sloppy/garbage plate was pretty good. All the different ingredients tasted good which makes a good plate. Still not as good as my favorite (Wimpy's) but comes close. The home fries were good too. The milk shake was very rich (made with ice cream) and heavy and had a good taste. I am not big on chocolate however. I quite enjoyed the food overall actually. The waitress was a bit sassy but that just fit with the overall theme of the place. She was attentive and food came quick. A bit over attentive at times however (told us she can't help it because she's a mom after the 5th time she checked on us to ask if we needed anything). The restroom was a nightmare. Though supplies were adequate it was small and dirty. Someone had puked in the sink and I had to wash my hands in there. *Cringe* I'd give the food a 4 out of 5 overall as well as the service but the diner and crowd deserves a 2. I can imagine how loud sketchy and annoying this place could get on weekends in the early morning. Go for the food and only. Avoid if you can't handle inebriation. I will probably be back to explore their menu in the future but will make sure I void my bladder/bowel before going so I don't need the restroom.More
This place is great late night or anytime! I think they have the best garbage plates in Rochester. Always fun to people watch on the weekends.
if u never sure what food to eat, u can always call mark's, they are on my speed dial and get the garbage plate.
My friends and I all eat here at least a few times a month! They have a HUGE menu and most of their meals cost $5-$7 and you get a ton of food. My favorite is their sliced turkey club sandwich w/ real carved turkey......not slimy processed stuff. They also serve breakfast at any hour and they're open 24/7!More
Good drunk food!
