A very cute and cozy place for drinks and snacks while in New Paltz. A welcoming, friendly staff that adds to the charm.

Small tapas and drinks bar in Water Street Market in New Paltz. Tiny but classy and sophisticated. Great small bites, nice wine selection, good beers, cocktails and fun casual environment. Really good staff with super attitudes. A must in New Paltz!
My husband and I stumbled on this small wine bar and loved it so much we returned the next day for a late afternoon cocktail. I had winter sangria the first evening and mulled wine the second. Just big enough for a few tables and...a bar with stools. But it’s got a big heart — it’s intimate and fun and quirky.More
The place I frequent most as a local. Great atmosphere, cozy, eclectic, great wine, beer cocktails and food!
This place is perfect to have a glass of wine and enjoy the company of a friend, significant other, or even meet new people. We were greeted with a smile from behind the bar, and we learned that our bartender would be Courtney. She was...personable and very attentive. She seemed to know all who entered the bar, and anyone new was quickly embraced as we all felt at home. Courtney and Jar'd left us with such a warm impression and we cannot wait to visit again.More
Nice cozy little spot for a quick drink and bite! I was very impressed by the pretzel with Brie and prosciutto!!! On the other hand I was not impressed by the hand crafted cocktail, too pricey and not made with love. Overall it was a...good experience but not on the top of my list!More
My wife and I are both alumni from New Paltz and now our son is attending, so we are in town with more frequency. A stop at Jar'D has become part of our routine when we visit. It is a very quaint and cozy alternative...to the other bars and restaurants in town. The selection isn't huge but that doesn't matter. They have yummy beers and wines along with some tasty snacks. My younger daughter always gets a lemonade and a pretzel which she enjoys. The ambiance is very unique and I highly recommend you stop in and check it out. We are usually up there on the weekends and Devin has always been a gracious host to my crew.More
Joined my friend for a quick snack after work. The food is not worth the prices. Cheese board offered three different cheeses (though the owner/serve never told us what they were) And just three slices of each. Sprinkled with some dried and fresh fruit, walnuts,...and a bowl of olives. $15 Mediterranean plate was better. More stuff and just looked fuller. Same price The pizzette was not good. Crust was hard, sauce blah and cheese was not melted. $9! I could have ordered a large pie from the local pizzeria for that price. The place is tiny. Back deck is cute, but if you put 4 people out there, it will be tight. The owner (who was also our server) was pleasant enough. She could have been more engaging. We probably won't be back again.More
A winning combo, a great staff (and owner), good people, good wine, comfortable atmosphere, then add sitting on the front porch to sip and enjoy the view and you have Jar'd. Light tapas and a cheese store just a few door away provide the balance....This isn't chic night club but comfortably New Paltz. It's small, a place you might walk past and not realize its there. Definitely your loss if you do. This site asks why I stopped there. The best word is missing, relax, to simply relax and smile a moment.More
Cozy, cool spot to meet for a drink and a nibble. Small patio with great view when weather is nice. Not a sports bar. Hallelujah!
We stayed at the Inn at Kettleboro (an exceptional Bed&Breakfast in New Paltz), and they directed us to this little gem of a place in town--a tiny beer and wine place in the Marketplace--which has little foodie places, shops, art dealers--a real pleasure. They have...a wide array of choices considering how tiny it is and also delicious homemade soups from a local caterer--perfect for a chilly day. When the weather is warmer--all these tiny shops open their doors and it has an outdoor marketplace feel like in European towns. Enjoy!More
We stopped into this little wine, craft beer and small plates spot for a drink and snack before dinner on a Saturday night. It was an unexpected find in New Paltz with a quality selection of biodynamic wines and two solid beers on tap. Definitely...worth a visit and even has a heated porch to enjoy a drink as the weather gets colder.More
Seriously small, but good for a quick drink with a great view to the mountains. Wine, beer, and sangria, and a few snacks, but plan to go there for a bit of a drink before moving on for dinner or heading home. Pleasant and cozy.
This place is really adorable, but dont go with an empty stomach. You can really only fit about 15 people inside, and a small patio outside that fits about 6. They dont have a kitchen so everything is prepared behind the bar. That being said...they had a good selection of snacks that pair well with wine or beer. I look forward to the expansion of the wine and snack list.More
