Crap. Absolute crap. They got my order wrong, so when I called to complain, they put the “manager“ on the phone who only recited the stupid person who answered the phone wrote down. Not what I really ordered. This place needs to care more about...its customers and quit hiring young white teenagers and instead hire people who actually care about their business if the owners don’t care about being there themselves.More

Price for lunch menu items is inexpensive for the quality of food. Free chips and salsa (medium or hot ).

I had the Del Mar Especial which was cooked just right. But the best part was the hostess—a tall, younger lady with blonde hair. She was both friendly and professional, and clearly attentive to the guests. We’ll be back!

Always have had good food from Cancun in Sherman. This is one of our favorite places for Mexican food. Several good Mexican dishes to choose from. My favorite is the steak burrito or the enchiladas. Casual Mexican dining at its best!!

Great salsa! We love to hit this place up on a week night! The chicken fajitas are great! The margaritas are delicious and service was good! Could use an update in furnishings and the carpet floor is odd. Overall great place to eat though!

This is a great family restaurant in the heart of Sherman IL. The pricing is very fair and all the dishes come out of the kitchen piping hot. The owner is almost always on hand to greet people and have a friendly conversation. We try...to visit at least once a month.More

An evening that was to be fun with my sister and her husband. Turned into a night that won't soon be forgotten. Our first clue should have been on a Saturday night there was almost no body in the restaurant only 3 tables had people...at them. My sister orders a margarita the waiter says large or small. She orders a small. I ordered cheese for my rice. The waiter takes off to the kitchen where he proceeds to have an extreme loud conversation with the kitchen staff where he tells them "shut up". So that all in the restaurant can hear. The waiter then proceeds to the table behind us (which were friends of his). And again has a conversation that the entire restaurant could hear and again says "shut up girl". When our food was finally served, it was just ok. Served warm but with no real flavor. I asked the waiter for my cheese for my rice and off he went but my cheese was never brought to me. When the bills came they were wrong. First the margarita. My sister stated her drink was charged 8.00 on the bill for her drink. She told the waiter according to the menu it should have been 5.00. The waiter said "no you ordered large I up-sale!!" She said no I didn't and asked to have it changed and the waiter said "no". The waiter REFUSED and would not take it off the bill or adjust it. I was charged for my cheese sauce that I didn't get and wanted it removed from the bill. The waiter took the bill to adjust it and when he came back the bill was higher than before he left. When my husband asked to speak to a manager the waiter informed us "there is no manager". I asked for the waiters name and extremely rude he says its on the top of the ticket. I informed the waiter how upset I was with the service and his conversation with the table behind us and the kitchen his friends then got into our business and an altercation almost insued. We will never return and have told everyone we know about this restaurant. There are to many great places to eat in the Springfield area to eat mediocre food and to be treated poorly.More

When Cancun opened, it was the best ever! People would come from Springfield because the food was outstanding. A couple of years ago I ordered a burrito special for carry out. It was close to closing- like a half hour left. I have never had...anything so bad from anywhere in my whole life. The meat honestly tasted like dog food. No joke. Never have and never will go back.More

Many years ago when Cancun opened, it was a great place to eat. The owners were warm and friendly, and the Mexican staff was equally warm, friendly, courteous and efficient. Now the place is run by teenagers, is overpriced, portions are very small and the...food is HORRIBLE. I recently ordered a chile relleno, and it tasted freezer-burnt - as if it had been pre-made and frozen a year ago, and then thawed, heated and served for my dinner - it had that funky freezer-burnt taste to it. Also ordered a soft taco, and I don't know what they've done to the beef filling, but it's different than it used to be - sort of red-colored and dry - and almost had that freezer-burnt taste as I described in the chile relleno. Even the chips and salsa aren't the same anymore. I ordered both hot and mild salsa, and couldn't tell the difference between the two. The hot was definitely NOT HOT, and both versions tasted like blended up canned tomatoes. The chips tasted stale and they were "thicker" than I remembered. Now that there are so many more, and much better, Mexican restaurants in the area, I'll sure never go back to Cancun. The owners need a serious reality check.More

DON'T GO HERE!!! Had a horrible experience. When first coming in it seemed like a cheap, run down, not very clean Mexican joint and was even more disappointed throughout the time I was there. It was the worst service ever, a simple order was messed...up multiple times, the food was poor quality and super dry. The worst part of all.. the owners are rude phonies, which after sharing my terrible experience with someone else they also agreed about the owners. I will NEVER even think about going to this place ever again.More

Haven't been here in probably 10 or more years. Now we know why.. I had the beef chimichanga with rice and beans. The beef was not all that good and the rest of the food was worse. The rice was dry and the beans were...mushy. Didn't care for it at all. My wife had shrimp nachos with cheese. It was tortilla chips with shrimp ( 8 of them ) and some type of cheese that looked like they had laid sliced mozzarella over it and broiled the whole thing. She said " now we know better." So we will not be going back again.More

If you have a sudden craving for Mexican food (note that I did not say authentic Mexican food ) and don't feel like driving in to Springfield, then Cancun fills the bill! Didn't see a single person of Mexican decent working there, so I can...not vouch for its authenticity, but the food is good for a reasonable price. Service is good as well.More
