We ate on the patio, which is really nice. The menu is extensive and our food was delicious. Service was friendly and quick. And the best Gold Cadillac Margaritas I have had in years! Would definitely go back -- worth the wait!

We have been here several times over the last couple of years and to put it simply and short, great food and margaritas. We have always enjoyed coming here and treating ourselves, especially with the margaritas.
Delish. Amazing margs. Great carne asada. Best refined beans I’ve ever had. Place is always packed so service is always a bit slow but food is great.
Group of 7 without advanced reservations. They were able to seat us in just a few minutes. Carnitas, tacos and enchiladas all received high marks. Most notably, the margs were big and tasty!
I have been going here since a few months after opening. Very good food at the time and the owner was efficient and hands on. I go when my mechanic is with me who works with me on my equipment for one of my companies...and my vintage '57 xk140 jag. We look a little scruffy so we come in the afternoon and sit in the back. Today was different. I always order the same think which is a good grilled chicken tostada salad. When the food finally came and I began eating, as usual I moved aside the salad to have some of the beans and grilled chicken on my piece of tostada shell. There was no chicken. The waitress was standing near me and I called to her and waived my hand. She walked away. She came near me again and this time I was louder. She came over. I scraped away the rest of the chopped lettuce and showed her there was no chicken on the salad. I told her it was ok I would just eat the lettuce but to tell the kitchen they neglected to put the grilled chicken in the salad. As I had said previously, I thought the owner was a standup guy, looked like he had been in the service, and the food was usually goo. Not to pile on, but there was only a teaspoon of beans, and almost no avacado. The beer had no carbonation and tasted like water. It could have stopped there, but the waitress came back and told me that the kitchen said they put the grilled chicken in the salad. This is even after her seeing there was no chicken. She effectively in front of my mechanic and the patrons, called me a liar. I slammed my glass of beer down and called her the liar. Now we have a war. She said if I didn't want it I could leave and she would not charge me. I said great and left. My mechanic than got his food to go and she brought a plate with a few slices of chicken. He asked why she was bringing that because she already swore the kitchen put the chicken on the salad. He paid for his food and left. I hope the original owner has sold to someone else because he seemed like a pretty good young guy and I don't think he will last long with this type of service.More
While in town for the Paribas Tennis Tournament we came here for dinner one evening with family. Though it was packed to the gills with several large parties of patrons, the servers were hustling and doing their best! The food & drinks were decent &...did the trick. It was a warm evening so my only complaint was that the entire patio was covered/enclosed. It would have been nice to feel like you were sitting outdoors especially with good weather.More
This is real authentic mexican food. Very pleased & it is now one of my go to restaurants here. Outstanding for me!
Best mexican restaurant in la quinta. Great bar, excellent margaritas, really good guerritos chiles. And to top it off the staff is great . Very welcoming and fun environment. i thought i left my wallet there and when I went back they really looked hard...for it and even called other staff at home . Just a great place. Highly recommend !More
Great tasting food--tasted as though it was truly house made! Margaritas were great and service was really good.
Two couples went for very early dinner, around 4. As expected, lots of room but before we left it was mostly full. Margaritas were very good. Queso fundido was excellent. Several entrees were also very good with substantial leftover for take home. The only thing...that could have been better was the flour tortillas were a bit small and dense.More
Went their for lunch and ordered The 3 piece Enchiladas which were very average. My wife ordered a Margarita which was $17 and I had a $6 beer. Ordered the Chicken Chimichanga and an order of Guacamole total bill for a very modest lunch $90....Highly overpriced for very average food.More
Some of the servers were in costume, but otherwise they did not let Halloween get in the way of their great ambience and theme. It was a beautiful restuarant to sit in, the food was delicious. And we forgot something there and they were very...courteous when we called and stopped by to pick it up. I'm not a big Mexican food fan, but this was great!More
The best tacos, the best enchiladas, the very best margaritas, especially their blended virgin strawberry ones! Definitely a favorite of many because they are super busy. Reservations are necessary. So yummy
We used to come here a lot but what a huge disappointment our recent dinner was! We (party of 6) had dinner at Casa Mendoza on December 27th. We had a 3 year old and a 5 year old plus 4 adults. It took 65...minutes for our food to come to the table. I noticed 2-3 other parties seated nearby that came at the same time or even after we did who were paying for their meals and leaving when our food finally arrived. It was difficult trying to keep the 3 year old entertained for such a long time but he did a pretty good job sitting at the table. The food was just OK: chicken fajitas, steak fajitas, chimichanga, and tortilla soup (soup was good but barely room temp and had to get it heated up) Within 2 minutes of finishing the meal, but still trying to get the 3 year old to eat a little more the manager appeared and asked us to hurry up and leave because "there are about a hundred people standing outside the door"!!! Really??? I could not believe it. It was so insulting and rude especially considering that it took over an hour to get served our food. Also, the kids meals are $12 each...pretty high price for a burger or burrito. They should make the portions "kid" sized because they are too large and charge $6 instead of $12. As we left there were maybe up to 10 people outside waiting to be seated....not exactly 100. After coming to this restaurant often over the past 10 years, that was the last time. We did "hurry up and leave" as asked and we won't be back.More
We went with a group. They were able to seat us on the patio. We enjoyed the margaritas but found them to be over-priced. Food was delicious and portions generous. Service was quick and attentive. There was live entertainment that was enjoyable.
