We visited Thirty8 for an early sittting of high tea, so more a brunch really. The food was delicious and looked beautiful. We enjoyed the Malaysian treats much betyer than the traditional scones and cream. We had the perfect seats looking directly out on to...the Petronas Towers.More

It was an amazing experience with top tier food and an incredible view of the city and the Petronas Twin Towers. The service was great and we had no complaints at all. A special thanks to the manager Alex, the cashier lady and the server...there named Zeck. They were amazing people and they did everything in their power to make the visit as great as it was. Half way walking down the staircase, I could hear someone greeting me good morning with a smile on her face. The moment I told her that I'm a walk in guest, her smile disappeared. This is absolutely a shock and not something I'm expecting with...the service of Grand Hyatt. Am I paying lesser compared to your in house guest or because we only wearing T-shirt and jeans? My guest who is not from servicing line also find it surprise. Then she walked us to our table and I requested to have the window seats table. She rejected me by saying someone reserved that. As an ex-hotelier, I know how hotel restaurant operates for breakfast and my instinct tells me that it is impossible someone reserved that table. It is just an ordinary table by the window. At the end, some 2 men were seated at the table that I wanted (I didn't pay attention if the hostess assigned the table to them or they chose their own table). As we just started to enjoy our breakfast, a lady came to us and request if we could make payment now. Are you afraid that I will eat without paying? From the way that she asked for payment, I can sensed that she was pushed by someone to get the payment. I guess the most appropriate way is settle the bill before you bring us to the table (I know by this you can have an easier job and not required to keep monitoring us which is acceptable). Other than that, environment is good. Food spread was excellent and worth for the value, just that the pandan kaya is absolutely too sweet. Before I leave, I gave my feedback to the assistant manager-Ying. She rest assured that all the above that I mentioned is not the level of their service and she apologized on behalf.
