Big and busy restaurant- with standard Tex Mex food offerings. We were sternly informed of a two drink limit/ not that we planned on having more anyway- but that seemed strange. Our appetizers came quickly but then we had a long wait for our main...courses which arrived lukewarm. Generous portions.More

Don't miss it! CJ platter: Pasole, chile Rejeno, cheese, chicken enchiladas, beef taco. Choice of red or green or both!

Very good salsa and chips, service was decent (some confusion though). Food was good but not great and the portion my husband received was super small. We would go again, but not in any hurry. Food to $ ratio was disappointing a bit expensive for...what you get. They do not make their own margueritas, we were hoping for authentic. Food was good though, dont get me wrong, Maybe just not for us?More

Came here because it was rated number 1 on TripAdvisor...boy were we disappointed :) We ordered the chicken fajitas for two...they were the worst fajitas I ever had in all my 50 years :) First off, they did not come out sizzling on a hot...plate like they are supposed to. They were on a plate but were not sizzling. Secondly, and most importantly, the chicken was absolutely horrible. It was all pulled dark meat that was roasted and not the juicy, white breast meat that fajitas are supposed to be made with. The veggies were just bland. No seasoning whatsoever. Please don't tell me that this is the New Mexican way, the food was rubbish. It's a shame! No way can I recommend this place. Truly disappointed in Alamogordo!More

We had the three shredded beef taco meal with rice and beans. Delicious! Very authentic! Great service even though it was super busy at 2:00 on a weekday.

Lots of choices and salsa choices beyond just green and red... you can order the heat to your pleasure. I went with hot and was very pleased. Not the "hottest", but great flavor and a nice warming heat. Folks had everything from combo plates to...the a la cart menu.More

Little late on my review. . . . When we arrive it was quite busy, although we didn’t wait long to be seated. The lady who sat us explained that they were short on staff and service might be a bit slow. We appreciated the...information, but found the service to be better than most places. Those working were busting their butts! Great food and great service!More

Food was great, service was great, kitchen was slow but that was fine. Tuesday night at 6pm we waited 35 mins for a table for 2. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Took 20 mins to get our food, which seemed long, especially when...you are starving and trying not to inhale the chips.More

Staying at Home2Suites and realised that most of the local restaurants close relatively early by British standards so headed to CJs and joined a short queue which grew dramatically. Slight panic when we noticed everyone appeared to be drinking iced Tea or equivalent but a...chat with our server produced the smallest sized alcohol menu you've ever seen but the Blood Orange Margaritas were great. Really good freshly cooked Mexican food and excellent serviceMore

They said they were short staffed when we got seated but you would never know by how quickly we were waited on and when the food arrived. They must be really fast when fully staffed. The Burrito Plate was very good, the red sauce had...a mean kick to it. The chicken tacos got two thumbs up as well. The chips also came with a spicy ranch dip which dip which was a very nice addition.More

We stumble in to this place 2 years ago traveling to Ruidoso. The pozole is the best thing on the menu; it’s truly next level! The red and green are both great but I probably prefer the red as it is a bit more complex....You cannot go wrong either way. The rest of the menu is straightforward US Mexican fare that is quiet tasty. They have friendly service.More

Liquor license is extremely expensive in NM. And there are only so many allotted for the size town it is. I agree, beer does go well with Mexican food.
