This is our favorite restaurant in Gaborone!! We can’t let a week go by without dinning in or grabbing takeout.

There is so much choice that it is very suspicious, like in most cheap asian restaurants, but the food was excellent and the service was very good. Also typical: ugly interior. Recommended.
We were very sad that the Chutney Restaurant had apparently closed for good some weeks ago and being lovers of Indian food, we then had to face the dilemma of where to find our next subcontinent meal? We did venture to another Indian restaurant but...were disappointed with the service and latterly with the quality of the food. Once again we faced our Indian food quandary. We had called the restaurant many times since its closure but without success. Following our latest disappointment we gave it another go and much to our delight the call was answered. That same evening found us sat at our usual table, enjoying both excellent service and food. Unfortunately, with introduction of a curfew over the holiday period Chutney took another body blow but hopefully, at the end of the current restrictions we will be able to continue to feast on the authentic southern Indian cuisine served at this convivial eatery.More
For authentic Indian food in Gaborone , Chutneys is the place. The place is clean. The prices are reasonable. They have a good selection of North and South Indian food. This time some of us opted for dosas. Crisp and light. Also tried the iddlis...and vadas. Others had their butter chicken - delicious, with naans. Due to the pandemic, the place was empty. But a lot of patrons dropped in for takeaways.More
Food would definitely fall into the "India" indian cuisine range not South African Indian cuisine. The aitron was clueless but the food was otherwise good.
I visited this restaurant 5 times during my time in Maun. It was good the first time then poor the second and each time I went the food was not so good. I felt the chef must change and therefore the food was inconsistent. Also,...the service was slow and not very happy. Shame.More
This is my second business visit to Gabs and looking forward to visiting Chutney. I stay in a suite and so sometimes I order more then what I can eat so I can bring it back. Dosas are pretty good. I haven’t tried the thali...but would like to. Bisi bela bath is good as well.More
worth visiting if you are in gaborone whether on holiday or business trip.food is good and worth the money you spend
Had dinner at the Chutney restaurant during a recent business visit to Gaborone. Found it very popular with local expat Indian population. Service was good and efficient. I ordered a vegetable Biryani. It was well prepared. Very affordable. Shopping centre parking.
To my mind the most extensive Indian menu I've seen in Botswana. Ive probably eaten here over 100 times and never had a bad meal. All freshly prepared food, hot or not. All washed down with ice cold beer.
This place is crowded if u r planning during weekend time. The quality of the food is gd & maintained. Service needs improvement coz it takes long time if restaurant is even half book. Best part is thali, which is available only in afternoon for...lunch during weekend, it always have different variety, some veggies are mild, some hot some medium..so sometjing for everyone. If u wanna try authentic South Indian food, try at Chutney.More
Definitely it’s the only restaurant in Gaborone where you get authentic South Indian dishes . Chutney is all about some decent tasting dishes and nothing more. The location and decor of the restaurant itself is very very average , nothing plush about it , The...wait staff though is quite efficient. On a busy weekend night, the wait at the tables could get a little longer that one would enjoy .More
We ordered Sunday lunch from Chutney but for takeaway. The food order was accurate (butter chicken, chicken masala and mutton rogan josh and x3 garlic nun). The order came out in time and we did not break the bank.
Fantastic curry dishes from both South and North India, we sampled 8 different options and every single one was incredible! The restaurant is in a shopping centre and if one didn't know where it was , you would miss it. The waitress who's name is...Tsholo was very knowledgeable about the cuisine and we followed her recommendations. The dishes are moderately priced and it is great value for money. I will visit every time I come to Gaborone. Very good experience! Well done!More
When you see Indian people eating at an Indian restaurant it must be doing something right. Don't be in a rush dining in. If that's your thing better order takeaway.
