The Royal Decameron Complex has been lauded for its friendly staff and immaculate grounds, with particular praise for the multiple pools and activities offered. Situated in a prime location, the hotel provides easy access to both Bucerias and the beach. However, guests have noted that the rooms and overall atmosphere of the resort feel outdated, suggesting a need for refurbishment. Despite the overall cleanliness, some travelers have expressed disappointment in the value, citing additional costs and the lack of modern amenities as drawbacks.

I’ve been here twice before and loved it! But this time left a sour taste in my mouth. The guest service staff was extremely rude to us and made us pay for towels after we used them to clean up some accidental shower vomit... (everyone’s been there). It’s an all-inclusive resort and I don’t know what they expect when the alcohol is free flowing. At least we tried to clean it up instead of leaving ALL the mess for the maids to clean. We were charged nearly $2000 pesos for the incident. They also didn’t clean our room for 3 days so we had to use our pool towels to dry off. DONT come here in the summer if you want any a la cartes. My friend was up 6:30am and there was already a huge line for the 8am sign up. He didn’t even get into any restaurants. Another group got into an a la

I stayed at the RDC June 2-16, a vacation package booked thru Air Transat. Travelled solo and met up with friends from Calgary, along with others we meet during the trip. Mostly a group of 6 of us. I had a good enjoyable vacation, but it was not the caliber of vacation at this property as I have known in past trips (been to the RDC over a dozen times prior). Nothing ruined my vacation, but my experience is not what RDC has provided me for a vacation resort in the past, there are many noticeable changes. Check in went smooth, but the short line went very slow. Israel took care of me and was thorough in his check in process. I emailed the resort prior to my arrival, requesting a room on the 2nd floor of Building 5, and was pleased that I was assigned room 5241. In room safe key

I am currently planning my 4th visit to the Royal Decameron! It’s really everything you need or want. Take the bus into puerto Vallarta and make sure you visit old Vallarta across the bridge. walk down to bucerias. Do an excursion, they book it for you right at the hotel. I highly recommend las caletas, so beautiful and we saw whales on our way back. The pools are great and there’s plenty of them. The restaurant booking system is way better now. The staff are wonderful.. shout out to Pepe! We were at the last years New Year’s Eve party they put on and it was absolutely fantastic!!! So much fun and so memorable! The food is good, you can always find something you like. Lots of bars for quick drinks. Can’t wait to go back!

Chose Puerta Vallarta and Decameron as it was considerably cheaper than Cancun and the Caribbean coast where we have visited some time ago. Great choice. More like a 4* Resort than 3*, very clean, great food and pool choices. Room overlooking pool and ocean, perfect! Would definitely visit again. Very few Brits here, mostly French Canadians and Mexicans. Area is proper Mexican, and a short 10min stroll takes you in to Bucerias with all the stalls and nick-naks.

We arrived on New Years Eve to the best outdoor party we have ever been to in our lives! There was a live band, a dance floor and incredible entertainers. The following days were everything we wanted in a Mexican vacation. We could always find something good to eat, the daily drink specials were always good, the pools were clean and welcoming, the beach went on forever!, the rooms were clean, and the variety of things to do in Bucerias made every day a new adventure. The staff were attentive to our every need. We highly recommend the Royal Decameron if you want an authentic Mexican experience.

I visited this resort with my daughter from May 20th to May 27th. I'm not a fan of all-inclusives - I usually rent apartments. This resort was absolutely lovely especially in Block 5, the adult section with an adult-only pool. If you do not have children this is the ONLY building you should stay in as it is zwarming with children and very noisy and crowded at the other buildings and pools. After looking at the layout online we were convinced that we wanted Block 1 as it is right on the beach, which by the way you pay extra for... $20US per day per person and all the rooms are exactly the same size ... 25 square meters. We were so glad we stayed in Block 5. Here are a few tips that may help you before you go. They do have safes in the rooms but they are 20 pesos per day

I stayed at This Royal Decameron near Puerto Vallarta May 19-26 here's my own view of it.I checked at around 6 PM Saturday Evening liked the bright & vibrant color scheme just 👍 i remember from my first Mexican stay at Decameron Los back in Easter of 2012.I checked in and was given Room 5314 on the third Floor in Block 5.It's over by The quieterAdults Only Swimming Pool Area so if you want more sleep less Party Central than this is the place to be.I ate at a few of The Ala Carte Restaurants Rodizio a Brazilian type Steakhouse it was good but u loved Picollo The Italian I ate there 4 times Chicken Parmesan was my favorite. I booked the holiday for my wife and I six weeks before we went as a last minute thing, I'd checked the reviews before leaving and the overall census was good, yes a couple of bad reviews but never the less we where going to enjoy! Arrived and checked in very quickly, at the reception at the far end of the hotel. The staff spoke really good English as my Spanish is limited. Bell boy took our bags to the room, a quick change and we scouted the grounds to see where everything was. The location is amazing, right on the beach, the eatery's, pool's and bar's are in good locations around the complex. Overall the food was OK, Yes you have to be open minded as we where in a different country which has different tastes to what we are use to. We then set camp up around the adult only

This was my 12th trip at the RDC, first time was in 2003: it changed owners a couple of years back & has gone steadily downhill. The buffet food was horrid, almost the same thing everyday, saving grace was the salad bar. The service compared to previous stays was also non existent, normally we don’t go in May but the hotel literally catered to the Mexican guests and passed right by us. After 2 days we stopped tipping at meals, we’d wait in line for a table for 4 yet others would get seated immediately (Mexican guests) & although we realized they don’t tip they had full service where as we’d have to get our own coffee, drinks, etc. A couple of the long time employees were so bitter with the changes it really shifted the mood. Used to be so many things to do which was awesome
