Whilst the hotel and grounds are aesthetically lovely, including the pool area, there were a number of deficiencies with our stay which we would not expect of a 5* hotel. I have tried to raise with the hotel but they have ignored my emails. I have set out the issues with our stay below: 1. The service was generally sub-par - any requests for additional service via the iPad were apparently ignored. If the ipad should not be used for this - guests should be told/ it shouldn’t be provided as an option. 2. On one day our room was not cleaned at all - I had submitted a request on the iPad around lunchtime to ask for it to be cleaned as we had clearly been missed in the morning. We went back out and on our return around 5pm the room still hadn’t been cleaned/ fridge restocked etc. I called reception and advised that we would be out between approximately 6pm and 9pm. We arrived back slightly early at 8.50pm - the room had not been cleaned. We needed to put our two year old to bed. I went to reception to complain and was treated rudely by the staff member at the desk, who suggested it was my fault the room had not been cleaned. I found out that the cleaners had just arrived at the room but as my son was going to bed it was not suitable for them to clean the room then. I was told by the staff member on the desk that they did not know we had a child in the room and that a late clean would not be suitable. This is unacceptable - the booking included my son, the room contained a cot and I would expect the hotel to therefore know we had a child with us. For the price we should not be left with a room that has not been cleaned / restocked. 3. The cleaning standard in the rooms was poor (around the edges of the sinks / taps and floor were grimy and not cleaned properly. 4. One day our room flooded. Whilst this was cleaned up after we reported this, we did not receive an apology for what is clearly a major issue. It is unsafe to have wet tiled floor for adults, let alone a toddler - and I wouldn’t expect rooms to leak like this when the room rates are so incredibly high. 5. There was no service around the pool. I think on one of the 7 days we were there, my husband was offered a drink. Otherwise you have to go to the pool bar. I find this surprising at a 5* hotel. Plates were left for many hours attracting insects by our sun beds - so we moved. There is also no toilet near the pool - which is particularly inconvenient when holidaying with children. 6. We were not told the Japanese restaurant would be closed on making our booking. The remaining selection of restaurants were generally average / overpriced and the choice of children’s food extremely poor. Children’s meals (such as fish fingers and chips) were not served with any vegetables - I find this astounding for the price. 7. Breakfast service was chaotic. On a couple of occasions we were told to find a table only to discover all were in use or otherwise hadn’t been cleared. For some reason half of the breakfast room had been cordoned off so there weren’t enough clear tables / enough staff to clear the ones where guests had left. There were lots of flies on the fruit - which ought to be covered. Breakfast was never explained to us - as such we didn’t realise until our last day that you could order more than one item each off of the menu. Had we known we would have ordered more. 8. Each time I visited reception I was left waiting. Again, there was no apology by the person at the desk for the wait. This is so far below the standard I would expect of a hotel in this class. I have had better service at Premier Inn. When paying the main bill on the evening before checkout, I was not asked how my stay was. There was no apology for the issues with the room etc. I don’t think anyone there appears to care. I had been waiting so long to be seen and wanted to get back to the room by that point, and also had no confidence that I would even be listened to (following my experience with reception re the housekeeping issue). 9. We left at 4.30am in the morning on our last day. Our bags were brought down by hotel staff on their buggy - but our smaller suitcase with my son’s clothes in was left at the front of the buggy by hotel staff. I was busy strapping my son into his car seat and my husband was paying our last bill inside - and so we did not notice this until we unloaded the bags at the airport. I now wish I had unloaded the bags from the buggy myself. The staff member I spoke to on the phone was nice - but again I was made to feel like I was at fault when in reality if you are delivering bags then the hotel is surely responsible for unloading these and guests aren’t expected to climb into the front or the buggy to retrieve them. Because we did not have the suitcase for our journey, we had no clothes for my son to travel in, which was uncomfortable for him as he was left in just his pyjamas. Despite raising the above issues with the hotel I have been ignored. If travelling to Majorca, particularly with children, I would suggest avoiding this hotel.

Hotel's Favorite
We just loved everything about our stay, Really really good, We had stayed here previously when it was still the Park Hyatt, And after reading some reviews about it we were quite sceptic about going here again but we just wanted to go as we loved it so much back then, Truly it was so lovely and we were so happy we went, In my opinion this is really how a 5 star hotel should be, When we left the hotel our car was already ready with the ac on and bottles of water, Without us having to ask, This is what you call service! Breakfast is also truly amazing and the rooms just WOW, We stayed in a junior suite Valley view and it was heaven on earth, They refill the minibar which is free, Which is amazing, The rooms are modern and clean and have everything you want, A bose box and Bottega Veneta toiletries. After we went to Cap Rocat and we were truly regretting after that we didn’t stay longer in this hotel. Only thing we really didn’t liked was the food and food choices at the pool, If they change that, Then it would be just perfection on earth. Btw also try ROKA, It was spectacular!!

Absolutely the worst experience in my life.. never have I had anyone enter my room without permission.. unless you’re at this hotel. It was so shocking to be in the bathroom and have the ‘staff’ enter without permission due to a noise complaint. Great hotel for the outset but an absolute mess internally.. much better hotels on the islands that don’t enter your room without permission.

Dear Guest, We deeply regret the inconvenience you may have experienced at the hotel however the situation required an intervention as the hotel's policy is to respect and provide peace of mind to all our guests. If a guest makes excessive noise and plays loud music preventing the rest of others we must try to end the situation. It is company policy to respect all our customers and call attention to those who hinder this work, and enter if necessary if after several warnings do not respect the policies of the hotel. Best regards, Cap Vermell Grand Hotel Team.

We know and review the hotel from previous visits (under Hyatt management) and note that the new management has unfortunately failed to uphold and expand values such as hospitality, service to guests, cleanliness and food offerings. The booking process, check-in and stay in general we found impersonal, partly unprofessional and guest unfriendly. Also the offer of restaurants and in particular a nice bar, was missed. The housekeeping was poor and the room amenities should be improved. Conclusion: under the new management we can no longer recommend the Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, it is simply not worth the price.

Dear Guest, We are sorry to hear that your experience was not satisfactory. Please excuse our staff if you did not feel as you wanted, however I am sure they did their best to meet your needs and follow the standards of our hotel. I would like to tell you that the hotel has 4 different restaurants and one of them is a bar and is always open to the public, so I do not quite understand the complaint. Best regards, Cap Vermell Grand Hotel.

This is more of a disclaimer for guest that want to stay here. The breakfast is NOT free as the site claims on hotels.com the charge for breaxfast is $45pp just be aware before coming here. I recently stayed at St. Regis who in fact offer a free breakfast and accidentally did not put 2 people to my room after making the adjustment to note that it would be two of us my rate was exactly the same because the st. Regis does in fact offer a free breakfast. I would also note that forcing you pay for the “free” breakfast is flawed as what happen if you don’t want to eat on the property they are still forcing you to spend on food you may not be partaking in.

Dear Templar, We would like to make our position clear as we did at the time of check in. Your reservation was for one person but you showed up with a companion, therefore, as we stated in our policy, you must pay a supplement per night that includes breakfast and the stay of this second person. All our rates are with breakfast included (it is included in the price of the stay) therefore we are not charging you for breakfast in any case, but we are charging you a supplement for an extra person in the reservation. We are sorry for the misunderstanding but we cannot accept this kind of false information and we want our guests to know that our breakfast is always included. Best regards, Cap Vermell Grand Hotel Team.

The hotel is big, very big, like a whole town. The property has several restaurants, majority of them are awful. The service at the restaurants is terrible, slow, lazy, unexistent. Especially at "toro" and at breakfasts. They casually forget your order or bring wrong food or just happily ignore you. The menu contains some basic pasta and burger. Like Spain has nothing else to offer in it's cousine. Voro is different, of course. The best exp in the world of food & drinks is guaranteed. If you're ready to pay for it. Do not take a room with "resort view", they are ugly and dull. Pay the extra and go for the "valley view", it's worth it. Or just pick a different hotel, as I was very frustrated with the level of food and service at this not-so-cheap place.

Notwithstanding that a lot of money was spent building what is a very impressive looking hotel, the services are badly lacking: it’s understaffed, no convenience store on location and most importantly constant problems with no running water in the room. We stayed for 5 days and had no water on two separate occasions for a number of hours.

We went as a family to celebrate my Mum’s 80th birthday. We were 11 of us with 2 young children. We booked between us 5 suites to accommodate us all. My daughter who had a room on the lower floor was most uncomfortable and mortified that her room she going to share with her husband and children was infested with Ants. She complained and they were very slow at responding in sorting the room out. The overall service was absolutely awful. Restaurants were slow and they had no service understanding with children and their food timings even though they were pre-booked. The food for the babies always arrived an hour late. The service was totally appalling to say the least. Nothing happened till we complained every day of our stay. Would not recommend for families with young children.

Very disappointed with the service in the hotel. Reception staff was rude and discriminating towards me and my family. Additionally no help with recommending or booking any activities in and around the island. Inspite of us complaining to the higher management nothing was done to accommodate any requests. Refused to accommodate a late check out after enforcing us to pay per hour because they claimed another guest wanted to come early and paid for early check in. The rooms and bathroom were not cleaned properly daily either. We had take a suite for 5 days. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we knew we made the right choice! This hotel is amazing. The hotel resort and grounds are stunning, the rooms are a great size and beautifully designed. The service is impeccable - nothing is too much and they will always find a solution. The food was also fantastic - the breakfast is great - menu and buffet (all included in the price), the pool food was excellent quality and the dinner options were all very good. We loved Roka and the Tapas restaurant the most. We booked the Deluxe Valley View Suite which is highly recommended - it was huge. I am ready to book again for next year - a true gem.
