Offering a unique position in front of the famous San Galgano Abbey, Agriturismo San Galgano is located in Chiusdino and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Val di Merse. Set in its garden, it offers free WiFi in shared areas, free private parking, and bike rental. The rooms are elegantly rustic, quite and comfortable. Each comes with a cooling fan, and an en suite bathroom. At the San Galgano the restaurant serves traditional Tuscan cuisine. Our apartments, built in 2016 with a completely equipped kitchen, skillfully combine the demands of modern life with tradition in order to offer an experience of comfort within a context typical of Tuscany. Every room in the apartment has its own private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, courtesy set, Led TV in every bedroom and free, fast and reliable WiFi connection. All the apartments are air-conditioned. Siena is only a few km form the property. You can reach the coast, with its beaches, within an 1-hour drive.

A lovely small hotel with 4 star restaurant attached. Yes, the roofless-abbey is mainly why people visit, but the restaurant is it's own destination. It's a beautiful place to simply sit, relax and enjoy a glass of wine or espresso.

The location itself and the surroundings look very beautiful and it is a quite nice location for day trips within the Tuscany. The rooms are big enough and clean. However, the service and hospitality is really poor. We didn’t get any information, no tips and recommendations, no one took care of us and we really felt like undesired foreigners during the stay. Returning from a day trip late in the evening, we couldn’t enter the building with the keys we got. No one told us that they will close the door at a certain point of time and we only found out by chance, that we needed to use a completely different door which no one showed us. Also, we damaged our suitcases really badly because we were not allowed to drive in front of the building for check in and check out. We had to carry the suitcases through gravel roads through quite a long distance. Since they were too heavy to lift them up for the long way, we had to pull them and one suitcase broke completely. No lift inside so my 70 year old dad and my disabled brother would have been lost without our help. We had dinner at their restaurant one day, it was the worst during all our Italy trips. Wine was ok. We will certainly NOT return and can’t recommend this accommodation at all.

I have been very lucky to celebrate my wedding at the Agriturismo San Galgano as it is an absolutely amazing place: the premises are absolutely beautiful with the 13th century Abbey in the background, the rooms are impeccable, the food is just great, the staff is exceptionally attentive and kind - what I can say, it is a a perfect place and everyone loved it. I could not think of any flaws, I just hope to go there again one day.

We stayed here for our daughter's wedding and enjoyed our stay. The area is very scenic and we took a few day trips to various villages in the area. Our room was spacious and very clean and would recommend Casale San Galgano for your Tuscan stay.

Had most our guests staying here for our wedding as it is right in-front of the abbey where we got married and also a 10 min drive to where we had our reception. The bnb is well looked after. grounds are spacious and come with a good restaurant serving dinner and breakfast. bnb had a pool in a lake but it did not look very inviting. In fact i don't remember seeing anyone use it! Rooms are nice but there is no air con or fan. leaving the window open is your only option. We used the courtyard here for our pre-wedding get together and it worked out well. staff behind the bar and reception spoke good English! guests were very impressed with the grounds. A lot of greenery and places for you to explore.

I rarely like to give 5*'s as I feel that it should be reserved for places that truly deserve it - so you can tell that this place is something special when I want to give it 6! In fact Ive been here twice (once in march and again in September) From arrival to departure the staff were friendly, full of advice and willing to go out of their way to please. The reception staff (they provide much more than this but I don't know how else to describe the welcome team) speak fantastic english and are incredibly welcoming. The rooms were pretty much brand new and were extremely well equipped with a luxury shower, in our apartment we had a kitchen, tv in the bedroom, etc. The beds were extremely comfortable and I didn't have a bad night sleep during my stay. -- Restaurant & Food -- The hotel has its own restaurant which serves the best food you will find in Italy. Now I'm sure that if you're visiting Italy, you will be keen to know about the food. I've visited most of Italy and I know all too well that the county provides some fantastic food. I wasn't expecting much of this place as its not in a city and is fairly remote. But the chefs are simply fantastic! They are welcoming, attentive and cook some impressive food. On our trip from Naples to Rome to Siena and then to Pisa, no-ones food came close to the quality. Even their handmade morning croissants are simply delicious. I may be hammering this point hard but Ive eaten in some top quality restaurants worldwide and live in London, a place synonymous with cultural cuisine, and this place has to be my favourite place. Anyway! Positives: + Fantastic location for the Abbey, and for trips to Siena, and the local villages. + Lots more to do in the area than I thought. You can visit the Abbey (of course), but also venture into the wine vineyards for day trips and explore the local towns. I also believe the hotel offers hunting (don't hold me to that though as I saw it briefly on a flyer). + Rooms are impeccable. Clean, new and highly equipped. No problems here. + Food is unbelievable and well priced. + Staff are incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to please. Negatives: - Absolutely none. I honestly cannot think of a single negative about this place. Overall, id give this place 6/5 if I could. We look forward to coming back regularly in the future. Well done to Niko and his team for making such an amazingly special place.

We stayed here in August for a wedding & it is one of the most scenic places I've visited. The hotel sits along from the Abbey & is tucked nicely away from it all. The staff were amazing & we had such a great time at the wedding which we were a part of & it's a place we have discussed maybe for our wedding too! My girlfriend & I will come back here as next time we come to Italy we will drive round Tuscany. So picturesque:)!

We had a very enjoyable stay here, the hotel staff was very helpful with everything we needed. Our apartment had a really nice view of the San Galgano church, where we went to a friend's wedding, nice relaxing atmosphere by the pool.
