Attended a wedding where the ceremony was delayed by almost an hour because they did not end the prior event on time. 20-30% of guests got food poisoning the next day after the event, and staff did not care and are taking no responsibility. Per the bride and groom, they have done nothing to identify the cause. I would not recommend having your event here if you care for your family and friends.

Stay far away. Staff might seem friendly at first but there are quality issues as well as serious life threatening things that are giant red flags. Starting with the quality issues, the heater and thermostat did not work correctly. Despite heat being set to 76 F degrees, it would not respect the setting and stayed around 71/72. Moving on to the serious issues, they mainly consist of the following three. Number one, extremely poor hygiene. I was here for a wedding catered by the hotel. Unfortunately about 20% of all the guest were down sick with extreme food poisoning hours after the wedding. In hindsight, this should have been obvious as the lack of cleanliness reflected in the room as well. The shower was not cleaned properly and had what looked like small leaves trekked in from the outside stuck to the floor. Number two, the fire alarms are not audible/visible throughout the building. Was only informed there was cause for concern by friends texting me that it was going off one hallway down Lastly, the response from the venue is absolutely horrendous. Instead of apologizing for causing potentially deadly food borne illness's they rather spent the time gaslighting the victims. Saying things along the lines of "you can't prove it was food poisoning. You'd have to go to a doctor to get a stool sample and prove it was a specific food item." Rather than an apology and owning up to the mistake and a show of good faith to refund at least a portion of the costs for an expensive wedding is absolutely disgusting. Instead they blame the victim and falsely claim that there has not been food poisoning in 40+ years despite it being rampant in review sites. This establishment should be shut down for health code violations. Unless improvements and an act of good faith is shown I will be reporting them to all relevant health departments as well as the local news channels. Stay far away. As it stand now, sleeping on the streets would be a safer option.

The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Checking in early was not a problem. I enjoyed the fact that daily or select day room service was an option, especially when you're going to be in and out of your room during an all-day event. Beware that a 1st floor room means you are closer to the bustle of events into the night. Breakfast can get congested quick if you opt for a later start. The offerings are simple but are of good quality.

Historically situated near Church and train ( yes, you WILL be comforted by regular choochoo choruses), this is a wonderfully updated place to plant yourself. The complimentary breakfast offers a great variety and access to water, teas, coffees 24/7 is very appreciated.

The most noteworthy feature of this hotel is its solid, country-squire architecture, not unlike Colonial Williamsburg's Inn. Having only four stories, it achieves its size due to it's sprawling breadth, with some interesting side features: a glass-paned conservatory used for special events, and what appear to be a couple of railroad cars out back. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast area of the lobby was slammed when I ventured there, and they were out of coffee, temporarily of course, so I passed on that amenity & ate out, but I wouldn't count this against them; the food & drink were probably excellent! The hamburger I ordered the night before to bring back to my room was more than ample & delicious. And it was essentially paid for by the discount voucher you receive at check-in for each night of your stay.

I was looking for a hotel in the area of Rod's Steak and Seafood and had no idea that the Madison Hotel was literally right there - so, I had to book a room. The hotel is so clean, decorations are timeless, and a very friendly staff. The room was simple and spotless. The continental breakfast had something for everyone and made the perfect start to the day. I highly recommend to say at the Madison Hotel and visit the bar and restaurant. Rod's Steak and Seafood's train dining cars were absolutely gorgeous - a very unique experience indeed.

The hotel is remodeled while still preserving classic finishes. It's luxurious, clean, and the staff are very kind and helpful. The food is excellent, and it helps that each stay comes with a $20 voucher. The one con is that the walls are a bit thin, so you can hear hallway conversations and if you're on a low floor, you can hear music if there are events. But other than that, an excellent stay. I'll surely be back if I am in the area again.

I love the Madison Hotel - it feels like a home away from home! I often stay while travelling on business and couldn't be more pleased. The lobby and rooms are welcoming and comfortable, love the gym and Rod's bar can't be matched. The staff are all super friendly yet professional. Great vibe!

I had some issues like feeling separated from society as I was put on the 4th floor with minimal room accommodations, No extra blankets and no microwave, no curtains. Didnt see one person on the floor during my 3 day stay.... The room was bare bones so to speak. There was dust on the table and stands and trash still in the trash can along with small items on the floor that would have been picked up with a vacumn. There was no communications on what the hotel offered such as pool or weight room ect and felt like I was put in a corner away from society.I was being with family at Morristown hospital and told discounts were offered by The Madison for people needing a place while in town but later found out I paid the nightly rate for that particular time frame which didnt make me feel any better. We did receive a 20 dinner coupon that must be used on the night it is assigned or you lose it. That was helpful. The hotel is beautiful but I felt like they assumed that being in town for hospital patients meant we need less....Beautiful, pleasant staff , but ask questions about what is included in your stay and events and navigation because they dont offer up any info on that stuff.
