The Beaufort Inn wins over guests with its historic charm and prime location, conveniently close to waterfront attractions and shopping. While rooms are generally found to be cozy and comfortable, occasional maintenance and cleanliness concerns are cited. Service at the inn consistently earns high marks for being attentive and friendly. Cleanliness throughout is a point of pride, with many guests commending the spotless conditions. Amenities such as complimentary bicycles and state park passes are popular perks, though there is some desire for clearer communication regarding breakfast costs.

We were not happy with the original room our reservation made for us. The room was small and we needed at least a small table to work at for business. They found us another room, though it was an additional $50 per night. I'll try to be brief - patches on the wall where they needed to paint, toilet paper holder and towel holder falling off wall and we were never told there was no daily maid service until late until the next evening. The cost did not equal the amenities.

Not an “Inn”, individual cottages encompassing a block in the historic district. Great location within walking distance to Bay St. shopping and restaurants. We stayed in adjoining rooms 42 and 43. Arrived in heavy rain. There is not close or paved access from parking to our cottage. We were traveling with an 88 year old who is mobile but could not navigate from car to our building without help. We were advised best option was to take a short-cut through another cottage’s side yard. We had to make several trips through puddles 4 or 5 inches deep, with luggage and umbrellas. Ruined new shoes and got our only jackets muddy navigating from the car to our building leaving them unavailable to wear in the chilly weather during the rest of our stay. No help was offered or available. We expressed concerns about safety and about the damage to our shoes and clothing, but staff seemed unconcerned. Management never reached out to us in spite of fact we were told they would. Found the only person staffing the check-in/out office asleep at his desk when I walked in at 8:00 am one morning to ask a question. Although building exteriors and grounds are in need of maintenance, our rooms were clean and comfortable.

The Beaufort Inn is a very nice Bed and Breakfast. The location is perfect, walking distance to just about anything you would like to do. The staff was very polite and courteous. There is one one improvement I would recommend, the drainage in the bathroom tub and sink could have been better.

I spent the last night of my annual solo southeastern US road trip in Beaufort, a beguiling town I've come to love. When I called my husband that evening, I told him what a great experience he was missing out on at the Beaufort Inn (he skis in the winter; I go south). This truly is a special place -- from easy parking and personalized check-in, to the beautiful property and comfortable rooms. The rooms are scattered in buildings surrounding a series of intimate brick-paved and tree-shaded courtyards. Since it was February, fire tables were lit at night. My room was bright, spacious and well-equipped. The location is super-convenient, which as a single traveler I especially appreciated -- I felt safe and secure walking to and from exploring, shopping and dinner with a friend. Next time I visit Beaufort, I hope to spend more time in town, and will definitely stay here.

We stayed in the Caretakers' Cottage, which has 2 BR, 2 baths, a living room and kitchen. It is a lovely, large and historic space, though could use some updating (fabric on the living room chairs is worn; stove in the kitchen is "vintage" to put it kindly (we didn't use it!) etc. We appreciated that our stay was very private and quiet, and that we had a designated private parking area. Liked that we could use our breakfast coupons at one of 2 local restaurants. We also really appreciated the pass to Hunting State Park. Overall, great central location -- Beaufort is a very walkable town and nothing is more than a short distance from the inn. Some rooms are much newer than others, so if you want a more modern room, talk to reservations about which rooms are new and which are historic. Courtyards are lovely, and while we didn't use the complimentary s'mores kit, several other guests did. If we return to Beaufort, we would definitely consider staying here again.

We had a great stay at the Beaufort Inn. The location is great, the suite we stayed in, was clean and comfortable, and the staff we’re very friendly and helpful. We especially want to thank Patricia and the staff for being so responsive to our change of plans and for providing use of their sponsor tickets for the film festival reception. Great people!

The location of the Beaufort Inn is ideal. It is located downtown close to shopping, restaurants, and the waterfront. The hotel was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, we stayed in a room needing a great deal of renovation. It was also dirty. The staff handled the issue, but we should have never been allowed to stay in the room. I recommend that if you choose to stay at the Beaufort Inn to ask for the most up to date room.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. I am so so sorry that your room did not serve properly. I am glad the team was able to help as best they could but we are so disappointed that we did not provide the level of accommodation that you deserve. We would love to be able to make it right if you would like to reach out to us directly at the hotel. This was a wonderful place to stay. We were in the Caretaker's Cottage which was perfect for two couples traveling together. The cottage has two bedrooms with comfortable beds and two bathrooms. We enjoyed conversations in the rocking chairs on the front porch as well as in the cozy living room. We even took advantage of the s'mores kits and fire in the courtyard near our cottage. It was definitely a most pleasant stay and we would stay here again if we were in the area.

I celebrated my 60th birthday in downtown Beaufort. My family stayed at various Beaufort Inn cottages and were very pleased. I stayed at 808 Bay Street with my husband and friends. 808 Bay is a full sized apartment right in the middle of town. It is FABULOUS! So much room and beautiful views to the waterfront and Bay Street. Great experience!!!!
