I have stayed at this motel several times over the last 8 years & always enjoyed it but it’s showing its age. I used to like that they had several usb a ndports & outlets on the lamp & desk before others were providing this convenience; they are still there but most don’t work. My husband found an electrical outlet on his side that worked sort of on the lamp but the plug didn’t fit tightly & kept falling out. None of the usb & electrical outlet on my side of the lamp worked as well as the two usb outlets on the desk didn’t work. The room has a strange smell like something had been sprayed in there; I soon got used to it. There is low light with one lamp between the beds & a desk lamp so it hard to see in other areas at night like seeing into my suitcase. I thought there used to be a nightlight in the bathroom that came on when the light was turned off but this was not in this bathroom. The toilets are the real low ones so if you have knee problems you need a handicap room or stay elsewhere. Our bathroom light had a very loud buzz when it was on. Hot water comes fast. It does have a coffee machine, microwave, & little refrigerator. Breakfast had many choices & the red velvet waffles were delicious. The location is convenient for being in Cary & right next to the hospital. The elevator was fast & the staff were friendly.

Staff was courteous, friendly and professional, rooms were great, clean and updated. A minor quibble or two (phone didn’t work, but who needs a landline?), didn’t change my experience. Within walking distance to one of the great underrated barbecue places in the triangle, Danny’s BBQ.

They booked me in the room on the first floor next to the elevators. The noise was unbearable and the front desk assistant said they were fully booked and also spoke to me with a terrible tone and attitude. Unfortunately am now scrambling to find a room elsewhere.

Needs refurbishment badly. The room was dated and poorly maintained. The shower drained so slowly that water was up to my ankles after about two minutes. I had to turn off the water and stand there for 3+ minutes until it drained so I could finish without my feet soaking. The ironing board was broken. I gave two stars because the room seemed mostly clean and the common areas and breakfast were good. I used to think of Hampton Inn as a solid hotel brand but this one isn't great.

Pros: Speedy check-in and rooms were clean. Decent breakfast offerings. Located off the highway. Friendly staff Cons: Facility could use an update/refresh. The whole place looks very dated and worn down. Paint chipping off the wall, rug in the hallway and rooms are worn, dirty, and smelly in some areas. The key card reader to open the rooms were iffy - the staff had to break into my room several times during my stay before going in fixing the reader.

We loved our stay… I have not encountered such nice staff and guests in my travels. The king room was spacious and nice and breakfast was really good. This was a last minute stop on our vacation and we were very pleased with our find!

People were nice, not outgoing but nice. the floors are starting to look a little dated, room was clean and the internet stayed consistent. I would stay there again for the rate but not necessarily becuase I felt like a long-time HHonors member. I think an 8 is fair without being unduly harsh. A difference could have been just saying hi passing in the hall or "have a good day" when leaving.

We checked in to the "last available room" for the evening and was given the key to a "Gold Member" room on the first floor. It had been an exceptionally stressful evening so I was already anxious when we laid down to sleep but it didn't help that the room above us seemed to be moving furniture or pounding on the floor. When that ended, I noticed an annoying ticking noise coming from the AC/heating unit. I was eventually able to drift off to sleep. In the morning, I took my shower and then my husband went in to take his. He came out and commented that the carpet must be really filthy because his feet were black from the time he took his shoes off in the room the night before and then got into the shower the next morning. I still had not put on my sandals so I turned the shower back on to get the tub wet and then stepped in and then back out. The black dirt & fuzz that was left on the tub floor after I had just showered minutes before, was so disgusting. I didn't rinse out the tub so the maid could see it. When we checked out, I brought these issues up with the person on duty at the front desk. I told her that the first two complaints were annoying but the carpet was a deal breaker for me. She refunded our stay and asked if I'd leave a review since she'd been telling the manager about constant complaints and nothing was being done. I honestly didn't expect a full refund but she pointed to a sheet of paper on the counter that said 100% money back guarantee. I was glad we didn't have to pay for it. The floor was so gross. It still grosses me out to think about it.

While the location was good right next to Wake Med Cary Hospital where I needed to be, the entire hotel was grimy from entry to the room. Nothing felt clean. The carpets were a mess, Ice Rooms mostly not working with grime and peeling wallpaper (I got to see 3 of them searching for ice), dark and dingy hallways. But the icing on the cake was the black soot that came through the faucet and the black grime built up along the AC unit.

Service animals beware… Staff does not know the correct procedure when approaching guests about service animals. I was at breakfast and staff hurriedly rushed in and told me that she was told to have me remove my dog from the breakfast lounge, “unless there’s something you’re not telling me” with a sideways look. I said “So service animals are not allowed in here?” She said “no” and another guest nearby started shaking her head in disbelief. I said “Really? Are you sure about that? Check my records [reservation history]”. She came back and completely ignored me, began speaking with other guests so I asked if we were good. She said we were. This location needs to offer better staff training, on approaching guests as well as performing appropriate follow up after asking a guest with a service animal to leave the breakfast lounge area. Now onto physical hotel assessment: I was disappointed upon arrival. For $195 a night, I expected more. The hotel is very outdated, and room. has a musty carpet odor in the hallways. My bathroom sink was clogged. The safety catch on the door was about to fall off… all screws were loose and the apparatus was dangling. AC: I am extremely disappointed that I am unable to cool my room sufficiently. There’s a wall control for the noisy floor unit yet the room does not cool at the setting I choose. The temp is controlled by Hilton unfortunately. And they have it set to 73. Worn, extremely outdated, warm room, and the ice maker room on this floor looks like it has a collapsed / repaired ceiling that is roped off. Front desk personnel very personable (away from desk in a back room 98% of the time though). Quiet area adjacent to Cary WakeMed campus. One star for inability to cool my room to the desired temperature, musty carpets, clogged sink and toilet on day one, and the incident regarding my service animal.
