I visited the spa with my sister for a birthday treat. I had the 8:30 appt for a signature massage. The therapist gave the usual caveat to just tell them if the pressure needed adjustment. I did that to start with my back , if she could lighten up a bit, she accommodated with less pressure. Then for my arms I received a “ one hand “ massage. The kind a friend gives half heartedly. I then asked her for a little more pressure. She was starting to make an audible huff! Moving on to next area. She put a warm towel under my neck, which I refolded for my comfort. ( no big deal, I didn’t say anything about it). She moved onto my feet, and when I asked her to go a little bit lighter , she became visibly upset and said that this is a fifth time I had asked for an adjustment and since she can’t seem to please me that she would go get the manager. I told her that wasn’t necessary and to just to keep going, but she insisted. It was a very awkward interaction. I would highly recommend that Trudy is not your first choice.

My daughter and I enjoyed an amazing overnight for some much needed R & R. The entire facility and property is beautiful, warm and welcoming. Spa experience was perfect from overall ambiance, services, guest facilities and especially the outdoor hot tub. It was pouring rain but we didn't care, it was amazing. The apple cider mimosas were yummy and the outdoor fireplace kept us warm. We had dinner and breakfast which were equally amazing. All of our selections were wonderful, but I have to admit, the truffle fries were the best we've ever had. Mission accomplished, we were beyond relaxed at the end of our visit. We'll be back. Worth it!

I went for the first time in December 2023, I had received a gift certificate for a special occasion. I took me about a year to use it because I needed to book about 3 months in advance. I had the best facial of my life with Sheena, the Biotec Skin Soother. She was fabulous!!. I also had a pedicure and massage. I will definitely be going back again soon.

Overall, we were extremely disappointed, disenchanted and underwhelmed by the entire experience. I understand that Mirbeau is highly regarded locally (I even saw a placard that said it was a top resort in the world in 2023 according to Forbes), however, in comparison to other places we often visit (Fairmont hotels, Omni hotels, even Kimpton hotels), this visit was very disappointing given the price we were paying. I wanted to tell you our experience in the hopes you can use it to improve for others. We will not be returning, but perhaps this constructive criticism can be used positively. Some specifics: Overall the service in the dining area was underwhelming. On two different occasions we sat down in the Salon area by the fire and waited for over 20 minutes before I had to approach the bar to ask for service, menus, etc. On one occasion we were told we had to wait 25 minutes to even place a food order. That service took over 2 hours to complete. The floor of the salon by the fire was dirty, with food all over it. The wheels on the chairs provided a bit of a nuisance versus a stable sitting arrangement. Meomi, at $22/bottle, should not be $16/glass. That's simply outrageous. The food in general was extremely disappointing. On our final day, our steak frites seemed like it came from a diner. The steak was grey and looked like a discount steak from Aldi's. Our whipped brie was vastly different than previous days. Service in general was extremely slow. When we arrived to grab a late breakfast (at 10:45), we were told the kitchen is closed and we had to wait until 11:45 to get into the lunch service. We were offered "fruit" from a bowl from the Spa as consolation. At a $700/night resort, it confuses me as to why there aren't options for us despite time of day. Waiting to eat for 45 minutes defeated the purpose of our stay. When we asked housekeeping to do the room, our bags had been packed and moved, creating concern about the safety of our items. I have actually never seen this happen in all of my travels. This was confusing and concerning. The shower was unfortunately small and not ideal to have to touch what appeared to be a dirty shower curtain multiple times during a shower. The bathroom floor was very slippery, even with bare feet. We had to resort to putting the non-slip bath mat over the most slippery part. It was concerning and dangerous. I would imagine we are not the only patrons who have mentioned this, thus putting your hotel at risk of a liability suit. When we asked for a late checkout, originally we were told no. Again, at other luxury resorts and the rate we are paying, I have never been told no to a late checkout, especially a checkout on a Monday afternoon. Fortunately, the fellow at the desk did finally grant us the extra hour. When we went to the Spa we were told that there were no available treatments to schedule. Looking back, I would assume or hope that upon making a stay reservation, someone at Mirbeau would call or email to explain that the Spa would/can get busy and to schedule ahead of time. Again, this was a first, as every Fairmont I have been to has available treatments to be scheduled upon walk-in. To go to a spa/hotel and not be able to use the spa was disappointing. One other guest, whom we didn't and don't know, mentioned she cut herself in the spa and bled everywhere. That was alarming to hear, true or not. I'd also add that, as out of towners, we didn't have a car, so when we asked for a shuttle to town (something very common in resorts), we were given a taxi card, who told us that he is booked and usually books days in advance. We had to walk to town each time, producing blisters on Lindsey's feet, forcing us to buy band aids and even a new pair of shoes. A 3 minute shuttle to town should either be provided or you should tell guests prior to arrival. Overall, I am extremely disappointed in our experience, especially given the price paid. We will not be returning or recommending Mirbeau to anyone we know.

This week also corresponds with all school breaks and as a result we have a tremendous demand by parents and students alike to enjoy a Mirbeau experience. We pride ourselves on our dedication to our guests and our ability to provide a restful ambience. If you want to impress someone, stay here. It is romantic and atmospheric. It is unique. It is like staying in a French village overlooking Monet's bridge and gardens. It has one of the best spas in the eastern US. Its relaxation room is like going back to ancient Rome. It is special and so relaxing! The best facial that my wife or I have ever received is from Katie - request her- we do every time we visit! On these cold days use the water terrace pool heated to 106 degrees and both locker rooms have wet & dry saunas to beat the cold. I love the water terrace with the falling snow and its roaring fireplace! You can have breakfast & lunch in the dining room in your spa robe! The dining room is elegant and tasteful and completely unhurried. Try the perfectly prepared halibut and finish with the best ever crème brulee. Ed makes the world's best manhattans and there is a great wine list for Ed or Jon, the F&B Director, to help you with. The dining staff, like all the staff here, are well trained, professional and love their jobs. People here put you and your needs first. They respect you and treat you right. in the winter, request a room in the Main building with a garden view. At night, with the snow and ice and lights, Monet's gardens and bridge twinkle like a sea of diamonds. Jose and Natalie will take care of your needs at the front desk where you can request evening turn down service for your French country room. The rooms are functional and tastefully and classically furnished with a cozy fireplace, super comfortable bed, darkening curtains and great products in the room and in the locker room which is basically a private club. Now you can appreciate why we stay here 3 or 4 times each and every year! The Mirbeau is all about relaxation.

Not sure why there are so many negative comments about this beautiful Quaint Inn. The décor and feel of this Inn is a French/Country style and so relaxing and romantic. Yes, there are signs of ‘use’ on some of the Lounge area furniture, but nothing major or anything to complain about. Upon arrival we received a glass of champagne & the Front desk staff were great. Our room was ready an hour early, we were in Room 123 with the most beautiful view of the pond & gardens and also the Cottages across the pond. Soo pretty. We received a complimentary bottle of champagne in the room for a special birthday. Ask for a room on the second floor so you can enjoy this view. The staff and service was wonderful at Mirabeau. Be aware of the Bistro & wine restaurant on site. It’s overpriced and the quality & portion of our $54!!! scallop meal & was NOT good. In hindsight, I would have ordered their $28 Burger as I heard that was good. Overall, our stay at Mirabeau was really nice. Sadly, the restaurant does not allow me to give this place 5 Stars.

I feel so strongly about reviewing my recent stay with my husband at Mirbeau Inn in Skaneateles. I am bewildered when I read the comments that say this is an overrated hotel, its shabby etc.... I can not disagree strongly enough. It has long been on my wish list to visit the Finger Lakes region and we started off in the most charming town of Skaneatles and the most charming hotel of Mirbeau. It was simply enchanting, the rooms were beautifully appointed with china coffee cups and a high end coffee maker, no K cups for this wonderful place. We were treated with the utmost kindness and courtesy the entire five days of our stay and I had several spa treatments and my husband enjoyed the eucalyptus steam sauna immensely. We dined at the restaurant a couple of times and it was delcious. You simply will not find a more beautiful French Giverny experience anyway with the lovely curved bridge, the gorgeously maintained landscape and the completely serenity. Truly it was magical and I can't wait to return.

I would not recommend a stay at this resort until it undergoes a much needed refurbishment. The rooms are dark and moldy, with a very noisy AC system piping through the room. The spa was equally unimpressive with a much too crowded small spa pool and little by way of relaxing spaces. I would not return.

My boyfriend and I had dinner and massages at the Maribu Spa. Unfortunately, there was a power outage which no one can control. However, nobody returned my calls nor did I get notified to begin with of the cancellation. Drove an hour to stay all weekend for my bday. To this day nobody has reached out to reschedule.

Our staff is dedicated to providing a wonderful experience and takes all commentary seriously. Unfortunately the evening of the power outage event our phone system went down and consequently we were unable to contact anyone. Power outages are very rare in our area and historically repaired very quickly. This was an unprecidented event that left the Community powerless for a prolonged period with temperature below zero. We are deeply apologetic if one of our reservation specialist was unable to contact you and would be happy to do so.

Went for my birthday weekend I guess they decided against champagne and left sparking water in the champagne bucket along side two champagne glasses and a note wishing me a happy birthday, odd. The rooms were outdated horribly! And soo dark with a strange odor that they mask by pumping scented air throughout the hotel/ spa. There was a wasp in our room stuck between the glass door and screen that was off the hinges & obviously how the wasp got in. After advising the staff of this they sent someone to remove said wasp yet no one put the screen back on the track leaving more opportunity for wasps and other creatures to get in! Needless to say we didn’t enjoy fresh air from our room. We had to roll a luggage cart out of the hotel up a hill to our car and load and transfer back to our room ourselves both coming and leaving. I would hardly give this place 2 stars. The spa was ok I’ve had better services at a local masseuse.
