Our second stay here and second review of The Village Inn. This time we stayed in the Cottage room. Not as roomy as the Terrace room, but very comfortable, and they now have coffee service in the foyer area, yay! A cozy, charming inn. We will return!

We stayed in the Terrace Suite. It is a large room with a great balcony. The soft green color scheme is very soothing. The bed is super comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and modern. It was super quiet for sleeping and it was just the relaxing stay that was needed during a stressful move. The buffet breakfast at the Sherwood that is included is fantastic! Overall, a lovely experience.

We stayed one night in the Terrace suite. It's a very nice room, as others have described. Quaint, cozy, and quite large. I would suggest they put a high top table and chairs with a shade umbrella on the balcony, as the seats are too low to see anything but the balcony wall, and the sun so hot it was not pleasurable to sit out. If we could see over the wall it would be a nice view of the lake. Our only other suggestion would be to add coffee makers in the rooms. There are plenty of surfaces for a coffee setup, and it really would have been nice in the morning. The breakfast at the Sherwood, included in our stay, was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

All the same as in the summer but with much lower rates. Last weekend in January every year the Rotary hosts WinterFest with a Polar Plunge in the lake and Taste of Skaneatele!!! Great time, room and fireplace very warm and cozy! Great breakfast a short walk at the Sherwood Inn all included in your room rate. We just love❤️❤️❤️ The Village Inn and the lower winter rates gave us more money to spend shopping in Skaneateles.

Made a last minute decision to head to this adorable village for the night and checked online to see that there was availability for all rooms that evening. The Inn is part of the Sherwood properties so they also manage the Sherwood, The Packard House, The Arbor House and the Village Inn. So, figured we would check to see what they had available and pick one. We had stayed at Village in the past and loved it! Apparently when you book online, you get a discounted rate. When we were there in person there was nothing available and after review between 2 employees pointing at a sheet of paper it was determined the Cottage room was available so we took it. After noticing the online price was less, we called over to the desk and they offered an adjustment which was nice. The Inn is a quaint building right in the middle of town with parking right there and a cute fountain as you go in. There are 4 rooms here and they each have a fireplace; one has a small terrace and all have 'village views'. The entrance looked great but the room was looking a little tired. It was clean and nicely appointed but needs to be refreshed. The TV was dated and had wires hanging everywhere - might be best to lose it and make guests just talk to each other! As this is in the village, it is a bit noisy in the morning but not too bad. The location is excellent for just parking the car and walking to all the shops, restaurants, etc. The room also includes a continental breakfast on the beautiful sun porch of the Sherwood Inn which is really a landmark of the community. As such, it does draw a bit of a senior crowd but we had fun too. We had a nice stay but may try one of the other properties next time and look forward to some updating.

We stayed in the Terrace Room at the Village Inn for an overnight getaway in April. You need to check in at the Sherwood Inn around the corner (would have been helpful if that information was included in the hotel confirmation). Luckily we were familiar with the town and knew where the Sherwood was. Our room was very nice, the bed was comfortable and the bath had a large shower as well as a spa tub. A nice breakfast is included at the Sherwood Inn around the corner. My only real complaint is that there are no coffee makers in the rooms or even a community one in the common area in the hallway. There is a lovely hutch with some coffee cups, but no coffee maker. There are hair dryers, an iron, a mini frig, an ice maker, but NO coffee. They were also having some issue with the direct/satellite tv .... so the tv did not work the entire time we were there.

We stayed in the cottage room on a Friday night for $225 + tax. That seemed expensive but it was a Dickens weekend. Checked in at the Sherwood INN. The Village Inn only has 4 rooms that share a common area which was nicely decorated for Christmas. There's a nice buffet table with nothing on it. A shared single serve coffee maker would have been nice since there are no coffee makers in the room. Our room was small but very nice. The only negative was that the room faced Jordan Street and was very noisy. Some might not like the climb upstairs to get to the rooms. Breakfast at the Sherwood Inn was excellent. They call it a continental breakfast but it had eggs and hash browns. Very nice. I was surprised that they didn't have flyers at the Village Inn or Sherwood Inn outlining the Dickens weekend activities. We had to find that on our cell phone.

Went to the Village Inn on a Saturday and had a very pleasant surprise. They had a very thorough menu. I had a hard time choosing as it all sounded good. Went with their Saturday special prime rib with shrimp. Lots of mushrooms, good horseradish, mashed potatoes with gravy, Mmmmmm. Our waitress was very attentive and knew the menu well. The outside is not impressive but well worth going in for a very good meal. I will return.

The Village Inn is owned by the same people as the Sherwood Inn which is around the corner and where you go for breakfast each morning. It would however had been nice to have a coffee maker in our room while we got ready to go out. Other than that, we stayed in the French Country Room which was very large and tastefully decorated. The four suites share a sitting room of sorts with a buffet that has wine glasses and dishes if you need them. The bathroom was large with a jetted tub and walk in shower. As others have stated, the pillows really do need to be changed as they are not at all comfortable. The rest of the bedding was nice and provided for good sleep except that our room was on the street side and there was lots of traffic noise. The parking spaces are tight but it is provided for guests only. Would stay here again but maybe in a room not street side.

I really enjoyed my stay in the Cottage Room at the Village Inn. The room was clean and charming. The location of the Inn is great because all of the shops and restaurants are literally right downstairs. The staff at the Sherwood Inn went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasurable stay. Plus, the complimentary breakfast at the Sherwood was delicious and the view of the lake from the front porch where I ate was very relaxing. I will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to someone traveling alone, a couple on a romantic getaway or an individual traveling for business who is looking for a peaceful retreat.
