This low quality, run down hotel does. It appear to wash the bedding and blankets properly. I caught scabies from the stay. BEWARE and stay away. If you have stayed here recently, please see a Dr as soon as possible and treat all your belongings with Permethrin.

Save your money. The owner is beyond cheap. The only thing that keeps this place going is the view. If this was in town, there is no way that the prices would remain as high as they are for as run down as it is. We have been coming to the Driftwood for the past three years and it has continued to go down while prices go up. The pool/hot tub area has never been open. The outside decks are deteriorating. They are covered in algae and rotting carpet. Chairs provided are flimsy and plastic. This is our last stay at the Driftwood. Upon check in (room 211) we discovered the TV we had in our room was from the 1990s. Bedding was OLD. Also, there was a weird stain on the carpet that appeared to be wet the entire two days we were there. Although there are several rooms that have been updated, ours was not one of them. Yet, the price we paid was the exact same as one that had a flatscreen TV and brand new furniture. FYI, if you are on the end rooms, the Wi-Fi does not work. The owner needs to invest money in this place in order for it to be worth the price he is charging.

Was there for a wedding September 2023. Was informed they had been experiencing bed bugs for some time and how orkin had just been there the week prior for treatment to a couple of the rooms. One of which was right next door to ours. Our bed was crawling!! Ended up having to sleep in my car as I was 3.5 hours from home. 6 other couples were down in the lobby with the same issue. The staff seemed irritated and was not apologetic in the least. Although they did refund us in a timely manner.

Beautiful view from the balcony on the second floor. Place definitely needs TLC and cleaning. Mold on shower head, paint peeling. New mattresses? Hmm, not in the room we had. Pillow was horrible too. Tiny coffee pots with huge pods, obviously someone is ordering the wrong pods. Cobwebs in corners. Screens on sliding door doesn’t close. Would I stay again? Nope. Do yourself a favor and drive a little farther.

Older motel, but the rooms were clean and the furniture has been updated. Our room had a small balcony that overlooked Lake Huron. Beds were comfortable, but the pillows were flat and hard. I would recommend bringing your own if you have room to take them along. Breakfast is included in the rate but was a huge disappointment. The breakfast room is tiny-accommodating 8 chairs at 2 small tables. There is little space between the breakfast bar and the chairs when people are seated in them. It is very uncomfortable for both those at the breakfast bar and those seated. When we arrived for breakfast, all tables were full. One customer warned we should be careful of what milk we chose because some cartons were expired. We decided to skip the motel breakfast and go to McDonalds. Good decision and I would recommend doing the same.

I would give this place a 5 for location and view. Right on the water and if you were able to get the 2nd floor, which we weren't, I'm assuming a great view. This is a very basic, bare bones motel. Supposedly the rooms have recently been renovated. If our room was, maybe new furniture? They forgot the bathroom. Bathroom floor almost looked moldy in corners. Paint was peeling off the walls. Definitely forgot to renovate the bathroom. Sliding screen door needs replacement. But the bed was comfy. We were disappointed we couldn't get a second floor room because we were told they were "fully booked". Yet by morning the parking lot was maybe half full. Maybe all the upper rooms weren't renovated. Another plus, a nice walk right to the water. So if location is your main priority this is the place. If you want something a little more than bare bones basic, maybe not.

I didn't have a reservation, March weather here in the tourist town never imagined I would need one. They "maybe" had one room left. No biggie. I waited for the owner to get back to the receptionist to see if the room was available. Finally after 10 min he got back and said sure, he has one available left. Receptionist said it'll probably be cold for a bit as the heat was turned off, you'll have to get the heat going...but don't worry, the room is surrounded by other rooms that are heated. Again, no biggie. Room key doesn't work, receptionist tried as well and said she couldn't get the room key to work. She sent me a text, Very sweet, to tell me if I have to leave she'd let me back in until 7 when her shift is done. Gave me the owners number after 7. I texted Brian at 8:49 to run and grab a bite to eat. It's 9:52 and he still has yet to respond. That's an issue. Second time staying here, there won't be a third!

The cool thing about the Driftwood is the location, right by the lake; wonderful to watch the freighters passing by on Lake Huron. The hotel is about two blocks from “The Lighthouse” restaurant; great food and service. The room was a bit dated but clean and large. While the bed could be updated, the only concern is that there were only two flat pillows. Offering four, fluffy pillows would be fantastic.

My husband and I stayed overnight at the Driftwood Inn last week. It was the only place to stay in Rogers City so we had no other choice. Sorry to say we won’t be staying there again! The place lacks care from outside to the inside. Room was not cleaned of spiders or their webs. We arrived late and didn’t see this until our terrible nights sleep. Bed and pillows left much to be desired! This place needs some TLC as it’s pretty much the only place in town other than a bed and breakfast that was booked. I hope the owners would take some pride and clean this place up!
