Did not actually stay here as my reservation was cancelled by the hotel two weeks after I made it. Quote: "Do to unforseen circumstances we need to relocate your reservation to The Freeport Hotel...". Was told all reservations at the hotel had been cancelled. The unforseen circumstance turns out to have been very forseen, as they chose to let a "long-term stay group" extend their stay. So clearly they chose $$$ over honoring their reservations made with others including me. If this is how they honor their commitments and treat guests, I don't want to do business with them. Oh, and BTW, the hotel they "moved the reservation" to was a cheaper, lower class hotel, I guess owned by them or a friend, and they tried to charge the rate for the Casco Bay Inn instead of charging the standard rate for the lower class hotel, which would have been substantially lower! Incredible nerve. Unethical. Unprofessional. If you make a reservation here, be aware it's really not a reservation!

The inn only met the most basic expectations (the room felt clean and I didn’t feel unsafe) but beyond that it was a very negative experience. Their renovation is incomplete (rust coming from the pipes on initial use, poor painting quality throughout, incomplete furnishings, vacuuming in construction area above room at night, my room door did not latch without an extra tug because of poor painting, the shower curtain was hung so low that I slipped in the shower because of excess material and the floor of the bathroom got wet from the mesh portion being hung too low, construction materials were left in common areas, old trash was left in the patio area, no decor throughout, minimal furnishings throughout ). The breakfast included only pre-packaged items (ex a few pieces of fruit). They had no tea and it was explained that they wouldn’t have any until winter. I have requested a call from the owner three times and have not received a return call. The manager stated that he was busy. The website photos do not match the reality. Additional, they advertise a spa (on TripAdvisor) for which their was no mention and no evidence. Be aware that this is at best a ‘motor lodge’ experience not an ‘inn’. I was charged $300+ perhaps because of a local event. Regardless, it is an unacceptable price for the unfinished facility and the low grade overall experience. The price set an expectation of quality and luxury which is far from what was offered.

I booked an extended stay at the Inn. The first two days were fine. The Inn then shutdown without any notice and turned into a Refugee Shelter. The breakfast area turned into a stockroom. The front room and breakfast area was locked in the morning. I contacted the Inn and have not recieved a response. I ended up transferring to another Hotel. Don't waste your time unless it is summer time...I guess. Horrible Customer Service!!!

It's nice when you stay somewhere and everything. Just. Works. No stress. Just a warm room, a comfortable bed, a clean space and bathroom, and decent Wi-Fi (which, to be fair, was a bit weak at the end where I was). The breakfast was unremarkable but perfectly satisfactory: hard-boiled eggs and toast does it for me! Also great was the AC / fan / heater, which has a continuous fan setting for the purposes of white noise should you need it. Long story short, this was a nice, independent hotel and I was quite happy with my stay.

We have stayed at the Casco Bay Inn when ever we come to Freeport. The rooms and the entire Inn are immaculately clean and well appointed. The staff is always pleasant and helpful; and best of all it's only 4 miles away from all the shops restaurants and bistros.

Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Innkeepers, Scott and Robin, make you feel like family. The entire property feels like a cozy inn and is decorated with a lot of care for the holidays; everything is beautiful! The staff is also very attentive and friendly. My family and I would never stay any where else when traveling to this part of Maine.

We had been traveling the coast of Maine for 2 weeks, staying at various lodging facilities. Casco Bay Inn was by far the best. Roomy, clean and very comfortable. A Noreaster hit the night we stayed and the power went out for about 3 hours (certainly beyond the control of the Inn)! The emergency lighting system worked as designed and gave us a sense of security that would have been missing at other venues we visited. I will stay here again when in the vicinity and highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

Basic accommodation at a good price including continental breakfast. This hotel is tastefully decorated in country style and very clean. Meets expectations for the money. A good pit stop on a road trip through Maine or convenient spot to drive to LL Bean and shops nearby.

The reviews on Trip Advisor influenced my decision to stay at the Casco Bay Inn for my recent four night stay, but I wouldn’t return again. This is what is good with the property: Exceptionally clean and well preserved. A good location if planning on commuting to and from sites in the area. We drove to Kennebunkport, Portland, Brunswick, and other areas of the state and felt our drive times were appropriate. Everything in the room was in perfect working order: microwave, refrigerator, air conditioning, lights/outlets, and the water pressure was excellent. Price was at a point that set this property apart from other hotels. This is what lessons our chances of a return: For my wife and I, the kingsize mattress wasn’t comfortable. I am 50, and my wife 49. We are 200 lbs and 118 lbs and our bodies hurt each day. Unfortunately neither of us slept well. Our personal mattress came from a warehouse store, so we aren’t sleeping on expensive accommodations. House keeping did not clean, and that was fine. We were told to bring any soiled linens to the front for exchanges. For Our first exchange, I placed everything in a towel to make the delivery as easy as possible, the the staff worker delivered what we needed. The second time the worker starred at the exchange for an uncomfortable period of time as if I was delivering kryptonite. It made me feel as if I was doing something wrong. The same worker was too inconsistent in delivery of friendly service. Secondly, there were no larger trash bins to consolidate trash. One morning I took one of our room cans to be dumped and asked if there was a big one. The breakfast attendant told me there wasn’t so I placed it in the breakfast area trash cans. They need to have a policy in place for trash in guest rooms. Don’t let my rating of three bubbles detour your stay. This property is quaint, clean, and definitely differentiates itself with its prices. After spending five days in the area, we don’t believe there is a lodge with a perfect location. Many restaurants in the area are closed for certain days of the week and short staffed when open. When exiting this lodge, turn left for 2 miles and you’ll be in Yarmouth. Maine, and turn right for 5 minutes and you’ll be in Freeport.
