Crescent View Lodging looks quaint and attractive from the outside, but don't be fooled. There are enough issues with this place that virtually everybody will find reasons to avoid it after one stay. Let's begin with the lady in charge, who runs this place with an iron fist, a full page of rules, and a sour, surly, customer unfriendly attitude. I started getting text messages from this lady after I booked. I thought the messages had a bossy, mean spirited tone, but as a specialist in customer service, I always give people the benefit of the doubt. The lady sent me a text indicating the paperwork would be left in my room and ask me to review and sign it and the maid would pick it up. I explained I did not want or need to have my room serviced, and did not want anyone in room. She sent me a curt text, "Maid service is mandatory." On the morning of the day after I checked in, I learned her text message tone was not my imagination. Despite a DND (do not disturb) sign on the door, this lady banged on my door at 10:15 a.m. waking me from a deep sleep to let me know that the room " ... had to be cleaned ... " I politely explained that I was still sleeping and if the maid *had* to come into my room, I'd prefer it be after I finish sleeping, since that's the primary reason people pay to stay in a motel/hotel. She said the maid goes home at 2:00 p.m. and *had* to get in before then. Then she told me the motel video camera showed I came in past 3:00 a.m., as if she was accusing me of some nefarious activity. In fact, my work has me keeping all kinds of unusual hours. Then she told me that the the maid has to check the room because people move furniture, sell meth, and other things they should not be doing. What kind of clientele stays at this motel? Wow. I nearly left at that point. For fun, I decided to make a list of my grievances. Look, I don't expect perfection, but when a proprietor makes me feel as if *they* are the customer, not me, I come to the point in which I don't feel like extending them any grace. Besides what I've already written, I also had these issues/problems at Crescent View Lodging. 1. No counter space in the bathroom. A website photograph shows a sink with counter space, but my bathroom had none! I had to put my toiletries on a shelf above the toilet, and leave them in the bag since there were spaced bars for the shelf and my items would fall between the bars. 2. There was a handful of dead bugs on the floor. I don't mean bed bugs, just the kind of bugs that come out in the summertime. I give the motel some credit here. At least they were dead. 3. No Kleenex. No problem. I blew my nose with the one-ply toilet paper. 4. The bathroom door would stay open and since the air conditioning unit was not configured to cool the bathroom, I had to use my shoe to keep the door open, so I wouldn't start sweating while getting ready. And by the way, there is apparently no central air. The room is cooled by window units. 5. The electrical outlets are on the wrong side of the bed and behind a large piece of furniture. If you don't want to set your things on the floor, you have to slide out the furniture and plug in behind it. Most motels/hotels in the modern age have learned that electrical outlets are mandatory for many customers and provide easy access to them. Not so at Crescent View Lodging. 6. The room is super small. I estimated 14 ft. at best. 7. As I returned to my room one night, I was startled by a mouse that ran across the sidewalk and under a garbage can. Needless to say, I moved quickly on the rest of my trips to and from the room. 8. It took me too long to review the multi-page agreement that guests are required to sign, not just an initial or two, and a signature. To to the contrary, I felt like I was signing my life away. 9. Besides the customer agreement, there was also a full page of rules and policies that customers are required to follow. Lest they forget, a copy is also placed on the door. 10. Trains. LOUD trains which run every couple of hours in the middle of the night, and the tracks must be within 50 yards of the hotel. It certainly sounds that way. The building shakes! If you value a quiet sleep, Crescent View Lodging is not for you. Unless you are a sound sleeper, you will be awakened several times. Yes, there is more, but I don't want to make this review so long that prospective customers won't read it. Candidly, I have no idea how Crescent View Lodging has received the high marks it has. Stuffing the review box with reviews from friends and family? Customers with low expectations? I have no way to account for it. I have spent my career in customer service and I am passionate about great customer service. I understand this little motel is a little operation and have no desire to see them do badly. Some things cannot be changed (the trains), but most of these concerns can be fixed with a manager who has been better trained. If unwilling, she should be fired.…
My husband's job took us to this area. The area hotels are VERY EXPENSIVE. We would be in the area a couple months. We found Crescent View Lodge online and prices were comparable to the area .400 a week for a room. The staff was nice but when we got our room no one there to check us in they don't work weekends. So we were given a code for our room in order to get inside The bed was awful it was held up underneath by some sort of metal box piece and when.we looked under to see what it was there were dirty disposable diapers underneath. This was the next day staff was there and they did clean it up but nothing was done about the box under the bed . It was either stay and deal with it or check in a name brand hotel for 800 a week I am not kidding.itvwas a somewhat quiet place except for a train that came thru every night right behind the lodge. It shook the building and was like at 2am .we began to notice the area around seemed a little scary with a criminal element .We felt as if we had to keep a watchful eye on our vehicles. They had a nice patio area with grills but no pool. The bathroom only had a shower and it was a tight squeeze no room to turn around much and I am small .For the mo ey this place and the whole area makes they need better places to stay and better restaurants .The city is the filthiest place we have seen the roads are bad the employees at stores and restaurants pretty much have bad attitudes .This lodge the employees were pretty friendly but for what we paid we should have gotten better and we were told prices were going up.…
Mają stoły piknikowe i trawy. Mają też duży parking, miejsce na grilla oraz kamery bezpieczeństwa. Nie żadnego innego miejsca, na pewno wrócimy!
Staying out here for a while for work and this is the first place I tried. Would not recommend. The train tracks are about 50 ft from the hotel and it runs every 3 to 4 hours blowing it's horn at near deafening levels impossible to ignore for sure. Management is very rude and is more concerned with its favorite tenants than with courteous service. House keeping only cleans empty rooms so if you don't switch rooms every week all you get is towels and occasionally they'll leave sheets in a bag for you to change yourself. All in all this place is a joke every motel around is booked at capacity and after staying here for 2 months I know why this place isnt. I cannot overstate the train light sleepers beware.
