The Castelnau des Fieumarcon is a fortified settlement built in the 13th century, far away from noise and pollution. Located in the historical land of Armagnac in the South West of France and easily accessible from Bordeaux and Toulouse airports, the whole village lends itself perfectly to corporate retreats and gatherings, weddings, workshops or special celebrations, with its ability to house up to 67 people together (and more using local guest houses), yet with a feeling of individual freedom and space. The beauty of the Castelnau des Fieumarcon is the ability to have an entire world of your own where you can think, talk, celebrate or star-gaze uninterrupted. Welcome in Gascony !

We organised our daughters wedding here. It was the most wonderful event we have had and it was confirmed by most of our guests. Christina was amazing and did everything to make everyone happy. All the services we hired that were recommended by Christina were excellent. They did everything as they were doing it for them self’s. I highly recommend Castelnau des Fieumarcon. The houses that our guests stayed in were amazing and everyone loved it.

I have just spent the most perfect weekend at the wedding of my friends daughter. The venue was amazing and we were so well looked after by the staff who worked very hard to ensure everything went to plan. The 'festival' theme worked perfectly and I would certainly recommend this venue for a wedding to remember.

I recently spent a weekend for a friend's 60th birthday celebration with 60 other friends. The village setting is idyllic, medieval in style but with modern and stylish accommodation. It was superbly organised by Annelie and Didier and team, from the moment we arrived on the Friday to the time we left on Monday. I just can't praise this enough....want to go back! Thank you

If you want a memorable wedding in fantastic surroundings with excellent support from friendly and professional staff, this is the place. We were 109 for the wedding, 80 staying in the Castelnau, the rest nearby. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this would be very special. Anneli, Didier and their team made us very welcome and worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the whole weekend. Rain forced a change of plans, but in hindsight this was a blessing. First because 'Mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux.', and second because it meant we were all gathered together in the Ecurie rather than scattered around the village. Each of the houses is individual, with excellent choice of decor, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. We will all remember our wonderful weekend at Castelnau Des Fieumarcon for many, many years to come.

We stayed 2 nights at The Village and were completely blown away (and I don't just mean by the very strong winds that chose the days we were there to do their worst!). The first "wow!" came as we drove through the impressive porched entrance to the mediaeval village and those wows just kept coming! Each house is beautifully furnished and decorated, capturing the essence of the locality and history. The views from the walls that remain around the village would have made painters, ancient and modern, hasten to get out their easels and writers and philosophers reach for their pens. But even for a couple on holiday, we were enthralled from start to finish, despite what the weather may have hurled at us. In fact, why am I telling you this? I want to keep it a secret just for us!

My cousin organized her destination wedding here and we filled the place with our family and friends. what a unique experience to stay in a village that is from the 13th century. walk on the cobblestone streets, look out of our room across the valleys, have a wedding reception in a stone barn! But it is 13th century, thus no airconditioning and when we left the windows open at night to have fresh air, we were invaded by hundreds of flying black beetles! After that night, we took the stuffiness over the bugs. The staff were great and very accomodating. Don't expect ready access to internet or other modern conveniences! (It is also isolated, i.e. 15 minutes from Lecture for any shops). Come for the charm and beauty.

Yes, we were blessed with calm , sunny weather. And yes, we were in good spirits for my son's wedding. But, under any circumstances, this is a wonderful idea, a wonderful quiet corner in an historical setting. A ruined medieval, walled village in impressive rolling country , with a number of self-contained houses , each tastefully and carefully renovated and furnished with antiques and period items. We were a considerable group ranging in ages from young tots to grandparents. There are lovely unspoilt grounds to explore , an outdoor swimming pool with views over vales and dales, a chapel with tolling bells on the hour and there's a Michellin star rated chef to organise and prepare a feast should you want one. Our wedding celebrations extended over several days and the food presented for the wedding breakfast was superb. No proper locks on the houses' front doors and not many rooms are lockable: so it helps to be among friends and family. The houses are provided with all the kit you might expect of a villa rental. The bathrooms are one of the few concessions to modernity, with nice baths, showers, etc. The staff come across as being intensely proud of the village and its facilities and , to a man and woman, were friendly and helpful. There's easy parking for several dozen vehicles . And there's wifi access in several points in the village (mainly in the reception house). There're are shops and restaurants approx 15 minutes drive away in picturesque towns. Certainly to e recommended.
