Facilities were ok. But when checking in we were asked for $300 deposit which was a suprise. We already booked and paid for the rooms so this was very unethical. Their reasoning was the mini bar. Since none of our group drinks we asked them to lock the minibar if they want. They reduced to deposit to $100 after that. Also rooms have central A/C, heating systems and rooms got very hot. Only after complaining to front desk they adjusted the heat yet it was still too hot. Had to open a window in oder to sleep. Coming from a country where normal temperature is between 25°C to 40°C better beleive it when it is too hot even for us. Also wish breakfast had changed daily even a littlebit. It was tiring to see the same menu day after day. Although the breakfast buffet had a good spread it was delicious. Their bread pudding was very tasty. We spend 5 days here. As for other details excellent location, very helpful coconcierge staff. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms.

Nor better not worse of other hotel pair level here around. Good room, clean and quite spacious. Bath small but all inside: shower + bathtub separated. A negative point is the air conditioner fan very noisy. Impossible to sleep keeping it on. Lobby is very elegant but furniture old style. Is big but there just couple of tables to rest for a conversation!!!! Gym is modern. Breakfast is very poor as food type offered comprare y to the hotel around.

I stayed here because it was in walking distance (c.20 minutes) of the UK Visa Advisory Center at 213 Middle Sichuan Road. The nearest Metro station is People's Square on Green Line 2, which from Hongqiao Railway Station costs only 5 Yuan. I was pre-booked by an agency into an Executive Room costing GBP £ 78 for one night. However, unlike at the Bund Riverside Hotel a month earlier, staff were aggressively unhelpful about lending any assistance in downloading a local Shanghai health code onto my mobile phone. All that mattered to them was that it was a local government order. When I showed them my Yangzhou health code and complained about their attitude, the desk manager threatened to refuse me service at all. I had to loudly demand customer service before I finally got any assistance with their code. I was in physical distress (aged 62), sweating profusely and feeling faint, which caused them no concern whatever, such was their xenophobic contempt for a foreign guest. There was no mini-bar, but at check-out the next morning they asked whether I had drunk anything from the room. There is a bar downstairs, but it closes at 7:30 p.m. Thankfully there is a 7-11-type "C-Store" nearby and a good "Chez Amis" restaurant adjoining Nanjing Road. They also tried to avoid cancelling my RMB ¥ 500 deposit and I had to stand over them to demand they do so in front of me. I shall have to thoroughly check my credit card statement. Oh yes, and the WC toilet in this "Executive Room" 1021 does not flush. I submitted a feedback form detailing my complaints but have received no reply. The least I should get is a formal apolgy for their arrogant rudeness, and my booking agency should really give me a refund.

Very central place to underground and shops. Hotel was typical of these large 4-5 star hotels. The accomodation was good with lovely decor and nice to come home to after a busy day sightseeing. Breakfast was typical buffet style with lots of variety

We were very happy with our three night stay here. The room was quiet and nice and clean, breakfast had a great choice of both Asian and Western cuisine. Great position near the main centre, nothing to fault.

Superb Modern Hotel just minutes from the main centre. Staff were helpful and friendly and room was excellent. Restaurant was good too. Affordable price for its location. Huge bed and great views over the city. The concierge was very helpful when booking tours.

The hotel has a fantastic old-school style decor which really does add charm to this large hotel. We were greeted by concierge at the airport who escorted us to our driver and into the hotel. The staff were not all particularly warm, the female reception staff appeared to have a slight attitude which was not welcome. Our executive room however was lovely with a spacious bathroom, separate bath & shower. The location was also great with easy access to all tourist hotspots.

This is a great hotel, close to Nanjing Rd, however ... the 1000CNY security deposit has NOT YET been refunded into our account after checking out 26th October, 2019. We gave them our travel card upon checkout to refund/reverse the security deposit as we had not had any mini bar purchases or room service, assuming the 1000CNY was immediately refunded. We flew out of Shanghai the same day and have been attempting to retrieve our money since. I have sent multiple emails and a message via messenger to the hotel regarding this and have NOT had any reply at all. Very disappointing service.
