We stayed at Praety II, this place is so peaceful hidden oasis in the heart of the city. Staff is so friendly and accommodating, rooms are very clean, AC works great. The best part of our stay was definitely breakfast..it is beautiful and luscious. They even serve it in front of your room so you can just relax and enjoy. We can definitely recommend this place for someone who would like to stay close to the city ,but also would like to have a little escape from all the tourists. Very good value for your money. Would definitely stay there again. ❁

On the one hand, a really nice atmosphere, a small price and a fantastic very nicely presented breakfast. On the other hand, the lack of hot water. A good impression was spoiled by the owner at the end of the stay - he started asking for more money than was in the order. Kind of blackmail accompanied by a series of lies - if you liked it, pay more... I felt unpleasant. A deal is a deal.

A really special place. we stayed here in 2020 and again in 2024 and could not have been happier with our stay. The morning breakfast is incredible, the Praety family are so kind and helpful, the vibe is laidback and location a convenient walk to the Ubud centre.

We stayed at Praety home stay when we were visiting Ubud to go to yoga barn & the Monkey forest. (It’s an easy walk to Yoga barn but not so close to the monkey forest).

We didn’t expect a lot as the price we paid was so low, however the family were friendly & accommodating & we had a lovely stay!

The rooms were kept clean & well maintained & the property had a traditional Balinese vibe which was lovely.

The breakfast was free & also really really good! The coconut & banana crepe was amazing! I ended up having it every day once I’d tried it & I don’t tend to like sweet things for breakfast or have the same thing repeatedly but it really was that good!

We’d love to come back here when we’re next in Bali!

I gave a lot of thought to writing this review because the family is so kind and welcoming. But I feel, based on my experience, that I need to offer my opinion. I prepaid for 6 nights based on the reviews here and left after 3 nights because I simply couldn't take it anymore. I stayed in 2 different rooms, one was the smallest and the second was much larger. Both bathrooms were pretty bad. Only a bathtub with no curtain making the shower difficult to use. The shower holder fell out of the wall. There are few places to place your things, often having to balance them on a sink that was falling down. I live in the Philippines, so I'm used to heat, but sleeping with only a fan was not comfortable. Being located in the middle of a neighborhood had charm until 5am when the roosters, dogs and motorbikes started up. I went searching for another place to stay yesterday and found numerous better choices for the same price. I know that other times of the year are busier and maybe during those times, this is a good choice.

I hope this review motivates the owners to compare their rooms to others in the city and make the necessary improvements to compete. I hated to write this, but felt it's important to be honest on a website such as this - I've left out many other details to shorten this review. I find it hard to believe others had such a wonderful experience. 1 or 2 nights you can handle here, but again, I've since moved to a hotel in the main part of town with aircon, tv and a pool for the same price.

In 4 years of traveling SE Asia, this is the best place I have stayed. The property and the rooms are BEAUTIFUL. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The family are some of the nicest people I have ever met and their breakfast is the best I had in Asia. Get the fruit salad, you won't be disappointed. Great place, great people, great value.

The house is in a tiny alley from the main road. The family was friendly and helpful. They offered beautiful breakfast. They also had bicycles for rent (30,000 rupiah/day) that was quite convenient for visitors to go around Ubud. However, there was not any bottle of drinking water in the room. This was quite annoying when i arrived late in the evening. The room has fan, not air conditioner but it was not too hot. You will sleep in sleeping net because of mosquito.

I would recommend this place to anyone travelling to Ubud. I Stayed in so many accomodation in Ubud in the past 7 years and i have found this place really fantastic. I definetely will came back next year.
I booked online for 3 nights ended up stay for 10 days, canceled accomodation in Kuta.
It is a traditional Balinese building with garden and a fish pond. The service that i received from Praety and her parents was by far above and beyond what i was expecting. They accommodated what I needs and looked after me like family.
The room was clean, very comfy bed and free WIFI 24 hours runs without a hitch.
I was so impressed by my breakfasts, very delicious, well presented and huge portion for breakfast.
Thank you for Bapak, Ibu and Praety. Sampai jumpa lagi.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were extremely disappointed, event though our expectations were not very high since it is a home stay.

At first look the place is picture perfect, a beautiful traditional Balinese house. But after the first night the flush in the bathroom did not work. We were not given blankets during our whole stay and the bedspreads are not good. There are cobwebs and geckos running around the room. Make sure you use a mosquito repellent in the evenings.

The only good things about the place is that it is walking distance from the Ubud market place which is the hub of the area. As mentioned by other reviewers the break fast is great, though the plates were not cleaned the whole day till we returned them to the kitchen. When we wanted to take a cab to the rice terraces nearby the owners tried to push their own tour packages which were exorbitantly priced. Do not take their airport drops. You can find a better rates down the road.

Wow. No words to describe Praety homestay. It has everything, and everything is great. We stayed here for three nights last week. The house and the rooms are exactly as shown on the pictures. The family is really kind and they are willing to help you with all your questions. We booked our cycletour (BaliGoBike, see my review) with them and received a huge discount. The breakfast is included and is amazing. You get to choose between a fruit juice or a fruit salad + a 'main dish' (eg banana pancake, jaffle, omelet) + tea or coffee. The homestay is about 200 meters from the Ubud main street, from there maybe another 500 meters to the market and Palace. About the same distance to the Monkey forest (see my review). To get to the house, you walk through a tiny alley, the house is about 30 meters from the street; you won't be disturbed by any traffic. Only one thing to keep in mind: the neighbors have roosters that tend to wake (you) up quite early. When they woke us up early, we just burried our heads in the pillow and slept for a few more hours before getting ready for another beautiful day in Ubud.

Enjoy!!!
Cheers, Sjoerd and Nienke from Holland
