Stayed 6 nights in this lovely hotel. Checked in easily, all staff we met spoke very good English and were very friendly and helpful, in particular, I believe Pamela, who had to put up with my husband chatting every time he went in or out!! The room was ground floor, but we did have a few steps to go up to it. Good size bed that was very comfy, a wardrobe and shelves. A safe for valuables and a mini drink bar. There's a desk with tea and coffee making facilities, note that milk is not provided. We got some from lidl about 10 mins away. It's within walking distance of vitosha boulevard, about 5 mins depending on speed.

We had a ground floor room but still had a few steps to walk up. Lovely sized room, TV, shower room, tea and coffee making facilities. Had to buy milk from a nearby Lidl. Towels actually smelled nice and clean and were soft. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Big shout out to I think Pamela, who had to put up with my husband's constant chatting and "jokes"

On arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner by reception staff. As we were too early to check into our room, our luggage was locked securely in a cupboard to be collected later. First impressions of the hotel were very good, with communal areas being very clean. Our room, 203, was quiet and very spacious, with a balcony overlooking the courtyard; a double wardrobe and a rack for suitcases, coats and hats, and the beds were super comfortable. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom and we had everything we needed for our short stay. There were a few toiletries mainly shower gel, shampoo and conditioner although no shower cap. Also limited coffee and tea sachets were provided, with 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 Nescafe coffee, which some people can't have because of the lactose/milk content, and no decaffeinated coffee. Breakfast was taken in a room below reception offering hot and cold food selections, with juices and cereals, bread, cheese and meat, eggs and sausage. As I don't eat processed meats or cheese and limited fried food, I struggled to find something I could eat, and non dairy milk wasn't available. One morning I had just cucumber and feta cheese. On some websites like Booking.com it states that a restaurant provides Bulgarian dishes. However, there is no restaurant now so some information needs updating. The hotel has clearly undergone some very good refurbishment and its location is perfect. We took advantage of the airport transfer at 25 Euro each way and it worked perfectly for us. We particularly liked the free wifi available in the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel as it is in a perfect location for sightseeing. The staff are friendly and helpful with directions etc. Google Street View may put some people off, showing graffiti on surrounding buildings, but St George Hotel is most definitely a rose among thorns :~D

A small boutique hotel walking distance to most of Sofia’s sights. Good sized room with large bathroom. I had a rear facing room that was very quiet. It was very hot (35C +) is Sofia and the cooling did struggle a bit in maintaining temperature. The continental breakfast was serviceable but not fabulous. The small single elevator was agonisingly slow and the stairs not well lit. Front desk service was fine. For what it costs, it’s location and room quality, makes this a hotel worth considering.

We came in group of 5, occupying 3 rooms. The hotel is located in old city and it's walking distance to nearby landmarks and tourism spots. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast spread is surprisingly good too! Really enjoyed our stay.

The 'SOVIET' style receptionists (day and night) were the first indication that this was not going to be the highlight of my 2 weeks in Bulgaria. I asked for quiet room and probably got the noisiest one -room 001 on the ground floor next to reception and the lifts- however the worst thing was the aircon did not work. ( it was freezing cold and wet in sofia-and it was June 17th!) I slept fully clothed- the blanket I asked for did not appear- the mattress was sunken and the thin duna was not adequate-the pillows old and lumpy. The shower ran hot and cold.. the breakfast was very Balkan and lacking variety- not geared towards any Western tastes. I did wonder if I was in the same hotel as the the wonderful reviews I read. praising this hotel. I previously stayed at Les Fleurs in Sofia which was wonderful by comparison.

Great hotel in a great location only a few minutes walk from Vitosha Boulevard. We got the Studio room for a reasonable extra cost. It had kettle, tea, coffee, and fridge in a small kitchen area. There was also a sofa & nice pleasant balcony with table and chairs. Free breakfast was small but nice. Staff are really friendly and helpful. WiFi is decent. Room has free safe (key operated). Overall a great stay

I had a fantastic experience at this boutique hotel in the Top-Center. Typically, I would stay in Lozenets, but friends told me that this is a gem of a hotel. On their recommendations,I booked a short stay while recently visiting the city. I liked it so much I have already booked a second stay in the next week when I return to the city. The time were perfect: clean, modern yet with many homey touches. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I especially liked the balcony. It was also spacious and had a small table and two chairs. I had their breakfast, which was very high quality, varied and delicious. The house staff were all very kind and efficient. I highly recommend this excellent hotel.
