We travelled to Kenya for our honeymoon during COVID-19 and stayed for three nights at Karen Gables before we went off on safari. Karen Gables is the perfect place to stay out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to easily reach everything. The house has so much character, and the rooms are extremely comfortable and luxurious, it really has a homely feel to it, so much better than a bog standard hotel. Charles organised our transport and a few trips for us, including airport transfer, safari drive in Nairobi National Park and a trip to Lake Naivasha all with local guides and an amazing experience. Chris the owner was very friendly and welcoming whilst never over doing it and all the staff were friendly, helpful and always ensuring your stay was perfect. We visited during the pandemic and the hotel was safe and followed precautions, and considering bars/restaurants were limited, you have everything you need at Karen Gables, good food, good wine & log fires to keep you warm whilst enjoying the peace and quiet outside. Really couldn't recommend this place any more, so don't miss out!…
Charles was very responsive from the time I made the booking, during the stay and check out. The property is beautiful, clean and very tastefully decorated. It’s spacious yet cozy. It has a total of 7 rooms, so not overrun by guests. There are beautiful gardens, good dining areas, great choice of soft Kenyan music and various books. As July is somewhat cold, in Kenya, it’s great that the property has fireplaces located at different places. Our Room (1) had a fireplace. Chris, the owner, is a good conversationalist, William, the server is attentive. The chef makes very tasty meals. All staff members are courteous and helpful. WiFi strength is good, water pressure and adjustable temperature in the shower - great! Ideal place to to sit back and relax.
We have lived in East Africa for ten years and Nairobi for four of those years. Karen Gables is a hidden gem amidst the hustle and bustle of Nairobi. The hotel is in an excellent location located within Karen, an upmarket suburb of Nairobi. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown within Nairobi we opted for a change of scenery and a staycation. The hotel is of 'Dutch Cape' design and well laid out and planned. Chris, the owner is an invaluable source of knowledge and Charles, one of his staff, was super helpful throughout our stay. You are never far away from most of the Nairobi 'tourist' day trips and have an abundance of restaurants and cafes in the vicinity to choose from. You can also at the hotel or relax by the pool enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings. I definitely recommend this place ............…
Ja i czwórka przyjaciół pozostaliśmy tutaj.
