Clean, conveniently located and very nice front desk staff. Most affordable place we could find in DC - well run with no problems in the room. Not a walkable neighborhood - but that was not our focus.

This motel is quite affordable for DC but there are trade offs of course. It's an older motel along a very busy 4 lane street with no intersection or crosswalk close by so not pedestrian-friendly. Also no sidewalk and quire a long walk to a bus stop or subway station. The TV in our room didn't work but the manager was very helpful and we were in another room within a few minutes. With a basic complementary continental breakfast, city location, friendly staff, and good price we will stay there again.

We found this place well located, easy to find, friendly staff, quick check in. Accepts cash deposits, huge clean pool. It’s an older hotel, the hallways need some work but the room was comfortable, spacious and clean. No carpets in room. Bathroom needs updating but if you’re looking for a quick stop at a reasonable price, I’d come again. Breakfast on site.

Booked for one night with family, specifically asked for non smoking room. 10 min drive to city centre is the only good thing. As we opened the door we got into a huge cloud of smoking odour. Everything looked very dirty. There was mold stains on the toilet seat that wouldn’t go off with a wet wipe. The location didnt feel safe. We checked out immediately and didnt mind to lose the price. Never again. This place needs a lot of renovations and cleaning. The staff didnt even care about our bad experience and was too busy playing on his phone. Handed out our receipt on a printer jammed piece of paper. Thumbs down

It appears Wyndham/ Howard Johnson personnel responsible for addressing matters that arise from guest reviews are either ignorant or illiterate. Reviews from over 4 years ago contain almost identical issues that are being raised in 2019. My travel agent booked us for 4 nights at this location. Parking the car in the car park meant walking through sticky ‘whatever’spills in front of the rooms. Can live with that. Walked into reception area which was dirty, food on floor and which I found out was also the ‘breakfast room’. Contained four tables and chairs scattered around, boxes and some kind of oxygen cylinders. Generally a real mess and not a good first impression. The room stinks (raised by so many reviewers), furniture has pieces broken off and the door to the room is dodgy and is problematic to close. Wallpaper peeling off walls and I find a chunk of gyprock from the ceiling in the bathroom on the floor and electrical wiring visible in bathroom/vanity area. Some electrical outlets in room didn’t work. Floors are dirty and the room is an indictment on management of these premises. It’s obvious you care little about what guests say in their reviews. I was booked and pre-paid from Australia for this visit. Only staying the first night due to time of day and happy to lose my money for the next three nights as I have booked another location. Irrespective of the price, dirty unmaintained premises are NO excuse. I will ensure my travel agent steers clients to other hotels.

So dirty. So many cobwebs. Uneven floors. Dirty bathroom. So many holes in the walls. When i was back, I relaxing there were so many bedbugs bites. I am also a Platinum member but was never recognized. The staffs also have problems understanding English.

We found this place was located off of a busy road which is hard to turn into. The rooms were nice and breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and accommodating. There is some nice things located nearby but not within walking distance. We chose to use a ride share app one day to drop us near the national mall then drive another day. Overall good stay!

I want to write a review to counteract the moans regarding this accommodation. Yes - factually they may have some truth- the fixtures and fittings have definitely seen better days and the breakfast room is a very “functional”. However we have just had a breakfast that has filled us up until this evening, we had a great night’s sleep in big clean beds, had a refreshing shower and are ready for a full on day of sightseeing in DC. A $10 Uber will get us to union square. Recommended for a no frills base to explore Washington. Beware though - If you want big towels -pay big towel prices!

I was very unhappy with the room, the odor, the peeling paint, the small towels, the hairdryer that stopped working after four minutes of use, the outlets that did not work. The AC did work and the beds were fairly comfortable... the only saving grace

Location is horrible, room stunk, virtually no maintenance. Tv reception was horrible, internet was shoddy, outlets wouldn’t hold chargers. Door didn’t work properly. I got virtually no sleep due to the road noise and the vibration from the metro
