We had previously stayed at the Top 10 in Christchurch and we were due to leave the city however after a late change of mind we came across this holiday park. The lady on reception was lovely. Unfortunately it went downhill from here. Yes this may be a cheaper option for holiday parks in Christchurch but the facilities are still not worth the money you pay. The kitchen and living room was of a poor condition. The toilet and shower area reminded me of the oldest school changing rooms. The walls were flaking, mirrors were either missing or smashed and the showers had no pressure. My advice would be to pay the extra money and get your moneys worth at the Top 10

I have stayed here twice and I don't understand all the negative comments - it's a camping ground people! So yes, the bathrooms are campground style ie. concrete block and you have to go outside to use them. But I have yet to find another place near the middle of a city where you can have your own private room for around $50 a night - less if you can bring a sleeping bag. The cabins are cosy and well-equiped - I've been in others which don't even have a tap in the room, whereas this has a bench, sink, jug, toaster, cutlery and crockery and I had a full-sized fridge this time, although weirdly no hot plate which was in my last cabin. And it's ideal for catching a show at the Horncastle Arena or going to the races as they are literally over the fence. Come for the night, shower before you get here if you hate camping, and save your money for other things.

It is the same in every big city, if you want the cheapest stay, then you get what you pay for.. Kitchen was clean, toilet and showers ok too, the are also. Yes there are some weird locals, but mostly you do not see any of them since you are in New Zealand to travel and not discovering motorparks. 5 min really hot shower is included, most of cookers do not work, and they do close kitchen at 10pm. It is one of the closest place to town if you would want to go out, so that is good, receptionist is nice and morning was not noisy. If it is only for one night and you meet some nice people there, you will be ok, otherwise it is better to go elsewhere.

Firstly, the photo above on Tripadvisor is not of this Accommodation........ I picked this Campground from the Hema NZ Motorhome & Camping Atlas. And I can tell you it has NO business being in a book that Tourists use. I was travelling NZ in a Motorhome & this place is an absolute disgrace! This is not a Campground, but an area where construction workers & pensioners live. The Dump point was filthy, and could not be driven close to. The area was wet & soggy so doing the job was almost impossible. The Kitchen was dirty. The Computer area was filthy, (u have to pay) the keyboard was so filled with built up filth I did not want to touch it. There is a TV room with yucky dirty old couches, which seemed to always have scary old men & deadbeats sitting in there. When it rained you could not get into the ladies toilets. Water was ankle deep! They charge $1 for 7mins shower, you get the first one free. (how generous) Workers were soaking disgusting clothes in the laundry sinks. God knows what I washed my cloths with in the washing machine. There is NO van organised sites as such, just park where you fit. If you come late you will be parking outside a pensioners home, on their lawn. The concrete around the office/laundry is all broken up. Clothes are hanging on the line and appear to have been there for weeks. The young lady who seems to run the place runs a mop over the floors each day, which does absolutely nothing! Everything is OLD OLD OLD! The workers all leave very early in the mornings, so don't expect a sleep in. The owners need to stop taking bookings from Visitors, it is just an embarrassment! Generally it is just a filthy dump!!!!!!
