If you want to get away and be totally relaxed and in a romantic environment, this is the place! Out of the way but not isolated. No service or wifi ( if you reach over the railing you get one bar, but you won’t want it!) just being alone together was the best part of our stay. The stillness at night and the ability to relax was amazing. We actually wanted to spend more time at the cabin than we did sightseeing. And wow Bruny Island has some amazing sights. The bath was to die for. So relaxing and enjoyable! We can’t wait to come back again and we can’t recommend enough! Thanks to Jen and Phil for being amazing owners!
My husband got top marks for booking the Hundred Acre Hideaway as an early Christmas present & a chance for the two of us to chilll out for a few days. It is so beautifully peaceful, there is an abundance of wildlife, you can pick fresh veg to have with your dinner, Jen’s bread and goodies are delicious.... but the hot tub is the highlight. Must admit we got a bit carried on our first night perhaps overindulging a little on the wine and cheese & around 8 hours in the tub, we fully expected a headache by the morning but it was like a miracle - woke up feeling better than expected & managed a long hike and lots of sightseeing (the lighthouse is a must). The tub was awesome after the active day & there were no aches and pains the next morning. Just makes you want to go out and get one! Thanks to Jen and Phil for a wonderful stay & well done on all that you have achieved at your beautiful place.…
The two cottages are positioned at the top of a slope, so that from your deck you have a beautiful view of the valley, the paddock where a couple of retired racehorses mow the grass, and where in the evening you can watch wallabies with their joeys keeping the lawn under control! The Japanese style cedar hot tub in our cottage stayed beautifully hot and we really appreciated the convenient sliding shelf for our wine! Inside, Jen has chosen decorations and furnishings which harmonise with the landscape so that the whole feel of your Hideaway cottage is relaxing. Breakfast included home made bread, eggs from their Sussex hens and local preserves. If the evening is chilly, the wood-burner does a great job of heating the cottage very quickly and it stays warm till morning. The Hideaway cottages are also a source of inspiration, showing how it is possible to live totally off grid - with a lot of careful planning, hard work and initiative. If you are looking for a true 'retreat' for a few days, this is one not to miss!…
Wow what a find. Two small bungalows tucked away on a hillside, in the bush / country, over looking the horses in the paddocks, the bush and then down to Cloudy Bay in the distance. Each bungalow is fully self contained with bedroom, lounge, dining and kitchen areas and a ensuite / laundry. The deck comes complete with a wood fired hot tub with a great view and relatively private. For the cooler nights there is a wood fire place. You can arrange to get food from the owners sourced from local produce - our first dinner was ordered through them and was some very nice meat and the freshest of veg s from their own garden. We ordered breakfast from them every day - fresh baked bread, locally sourced bacon, freshly laid eggs whenever available, and more fresh veg, tomatoes, etc. Great. The property has a number of walking tracks you can go on or you can organise to go on a horse ride if you prefer. There is plenty of wild life too. Wallabies, potoroos, opossums, birds, etc.…
