My family and I chose Hotel de Lis because we wanted to be within walking distance to Keukenhof Gardens, which it was. Check-in was easy, and we were put in a suite, which was perfect for our 4 person family (two adults, two children). There were convertible couches turned down, and made with linens, and the master bedroom is up a short flight of stairs. It's nice that there is a small kitchenette, and it would be perfect had we stayed more than one night. · The doorknob on the bathroom door came off in my son's hand right when we got in the room-no major problem, but the repairman wasn't able to come until it was bedtime for my children. Unfortunately, he didn't have a replacement doorknob, so he took the doorknob off completely so we didn't accidentally get locked in the bathroom-which was completely fine. Since it was so late in the evening, I didn't see that we needed it, and that they could fix it when we checked out. The hotel had run out of hot water the following morning (after breakfast), but as we were kind of in a rush to get on the road the following morning, we decided to skip showers, so it didn't impact us too much. The front desk agent apologize, and it was obvious that other guests had complained. We told her it really wasn't a biggie for us, but would have been had we stuck around for the day. A couple things that we didn't like-we understand the 'minimalistic' vibe of the hotel room, but there was only one trash can for the room, and it happened to be downstairs. I think they could provide more than one trash can, especially one in the bathroom so travelers don't have to go up and down the stairs to throw stuff away. Also, while the curtains were serviceable, the track needs to be oiled, so they can be closed easily-I yanked them to close them, and had to climb up on the sill because the curtain came off the little hooks (we have the same type at home). The curtain downstairs didn't quite meet the edges of the window, so there was quite a bit of light coming through in the morning, which was just enough to wake the little people up.…
