Hotel Clemens is a cosy two star hotel with a lovely service in the city centre of Amsterdam. Within walking distance you find the Dam square, the beautiful 'Jordaan area' and the famous '9 streets', Anne Frank house and the Westerchurch. The hotel is located in an amazing monumental building between the canals Herengracht and Keijzersgracht.
Quaint Dutch hotel, friendly welcome. Room very clean. Do not expect huge rooms here. Fine for 2 people.Simple Dutch breakfast- free! Bed extremely comfy. Good location, quiet area, 5 min walk to Anne Frank house. Easily walkable from train-20 min. Not for elderly or mobility issues- steepest stairs ever seen- normal for Amsterdam. No lift. Don’t bring big suitcases.

Lovely hotel conveniently located in central Amsterdam, close to tram, Anne Frank house, shops and restaurants. Quiet, clean, comfortable, helpful staff and two cute resident cats. Breakfast included pancakes and scrambled eggs as well as a cold spread, croissants, toast. Lots of steep stairs but the staff happily assist with suitcases if needed. Would stay again.

Really excellent hotel. Staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful with a 24 hour reception presence. The rooms was very small but clean and comfortable though the steep staircases may be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. Great central location with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and close to many of the main places to visit.

Great location - we walked everywhere. I had a single room - Room was tiny but clean and very quiet - no road noise ! I slept very well. Bed was v comfortable with cotton bed linen. Shower was great with lots of hot water. Staff were very friendly and helpful with our luggage. Breakfast was good and fresh. The stairs didn’t bother us.

The location of Clemens Hotel is a big advantage, right next to Dam square and main streets with food and shops. The room was small, as expected in Europe, and a bit old fashioned and minimal. Everything was clean and shower worked well with hot water. No bath products beside soap which is also shampoo. Breakfast was good with many choices and even vegan cheese. Coffee is available at the lobby at every hour. The narrow stairs everyone here wrote about are not just at the entrance but also between floors, and when you come back from a long day of walking you don't really want to climb.

We stayed at Hotel Clemens for 2 nights and would definitely recommend to my others and keen to stay again. We loved it so much we booked it for our son and his girlfriend on their visit. Everything is of excellent quality and the staff are so welcoming. The location is brilliant- in the heart of the city and just a few minutes walk to the Anne Frank House too. The complimentary breakfast is lovely with a nice range of options and included some gluten free for me too. Tea and coffee is complimentary and available whenever you need a cuppa. We absolutely loved Hotel Clemens!

Wonderful small centrally located hotel. Upon arrival you are greeted like a friend and offered a free welcome drink, while waiting for my room I was given a map, local information, the manager also gave me his card with a 24hr contact number, such a thoughtful touch. My room was one flight up from reception and faced the street, it was compact but very clean and bright, comfortable beds, satellite TV, en-suite with a good hot shower. The whole hotel is kept to such a high standard and all the staff are very nice. There are steep steps up to reception from street level and 2 more flights to the rooms with no lift this would be an issue for the less mobile. The hotel sits above a row of shops and cafes and with a small outside terrace it’s lovey to sit and watch the world go by. Buffett Breakfast was included it’s a full continental with fresh scrambled eggs, lots of choice including unlimited fruit juices, coffee and various teas. The reception is manned 24hrs and free coffee and tea is available, they also had mini muffins, great for a late night snack. I will definitely return 😀…

Lovely clean hotel and really close to the centre, very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was great also!! Stayed for the Amsterdam Marathon and will be looking to stay once again for the 2023 Marathon. Very steep stairs but will not let that stop me from returning.

Hotel - just a doorway in a block of shops & hotels - was fine. Nearly 40 narrow steps from street to reception, but that's to be expected for a building that's protected, and unable to install better stairs on an elevator. But staff very helpful with my bigger bag, and with advice on many things. Reception, lounge and dining area very nice, cosy. Had room at the back of the property, few sounds from busy street at the front, even with the window open. But was a narrow single bed, but that's all I could get at shortish notice. But room and bedding clean, tidy and otherwise all I needed. Reception staffed 24/7s, and taxi arranged for 3.30am without a problem.

Wonderful little hotel and we were thrilled to have found it. Very close to all that central Amsterdam has to offer and all within walking distance. Very helpful and friendly staff. Quiet rooms, super comfy beds. Two resident cats that were a sweet addition. A charming breakfast room with a balcony overlooking the street. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Free coffee and tea throughout the stay from the machine in the lounge which was a nice gesture. Would happily recommend and definitely return
