Great value for money. It exceeded my expectations. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. There was a lovely 'feel' to the place. Being close to the restaurants in Wilmslow road was brilliant. There are plenty of buses into the city centre. I would highly recommend this as a budget place to stay.

VERY very minimal. Very "aged" as i dont believe the place has been renovated since the death of the actual martin luther king jnr and the washing facilities (bathroom) are absolutely dismal. Black mold all over the shower curtain and the shower has about as much preasure as dog drooling. I do suppose you "get what you pay for" and the staff are lovely so i would recommend for short stays for work, possibly, but by no means a place for a weekend to enjoy.

Unfortunately, I feel I have to write this review after a very dissapointing time at this hotel. We booked in to the Luther King ,and were greeted by two lovely receptionsts, They were friendly and helped us with parking etc. We visited the Etihad Stadium and returned to the hotel, and had a couple of drinks before going into town. So, me and a friend were stood at the deserted bar for around 10 minutes, When a very abrupt barmaid/receptionist appeared and immediately asked us,"Have you two been behind this bar!?" When we said,"No,why would we?" She replied,"Because someones nicked my headphones!!" We were astonished. We left, Went into town, and came back a couple of hours later to find that this Lady was still there. I asked her her name and she said"Monique, why?" I said,"Because I don't think you should be accusing paying customers of theft", I also asked her if she'd found her headphones. She said"No,and I never accused you".I pointed out that sooner or later her headphones would be found and let her know my dissapointment at not only her attitude, but the direct accusations to begin with.A very sad end to what was a brilliant trip, and other than this experience,a cracking little hotel

Was further out of town than indicated cost a lot on taxi fares. There is only one chair to sit on. Towel rail broken/ non-existent. TV only shows BBC1, and there's nowhere comfortable to watch it for 2 people. A toilet roll holder would have been preferred to toilet roll round the floor. The room was far, far too hot, and the radiator regulator was broken. We didn't know that you had to specifically ask for the bed to be made. Although staff had been inches room to clean mugs and replenish coffee, milk etc

I stayed one night so didn’t use all the facilities available, but I really liked the very friendly and helpful staff, the convenient location, the room had everything I needed, the bed was comfortable, the linens were clean, and I appreciated the tea and coffee in the room. I had to leave very early, but I still had access to fresh coffee and a lovely range of fruit, meats, yoghurt, cereal and toast/crumpets for breakfast, which I was very impressed by! The only downsides to my experience were not the hotel’s fault at all (other noisy guests!) and the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is that the room could definitely have done with a lick of paint and updating, although it was clean. I would definitely recommend staying here - I definitely will again when the need arises! My top tip is to book direct with them rather than an aggregator online - I saved a few pounds doing this :-) Once again, shout out to the lovely staff!

Very average place but reasonably convenient to town taking just under a half an hour to get to Picadilly, (town centre). Continental breakfast the best of the deal with berries, canned peaches and yoghurts (thank you for plain), coffee (tea), cheese and ham, breads, croissant, pastry and muffin...Porridge great with dried fruit to add. Diming area neat and clean. Cleaning standards OK...but place a bit run down...with wear showing on carpets and "leather?" chairs... cleaning container and vacuum standing (stored) in corrider... shower needs update but has new shower head. Some noises at night..pipes?? I thought someone was knocking at my door!
