Really enjoyable weekend at Ashbourne House. Warmly welcomed by Fiona who was happy to provide helpful information. Slept well in a comfortable bed & pillows, rooms beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Good size bathroom with hot powerful shower, again all spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Lots of marmalades and jams to choose from. 20 mins walk along the river path to York centre, road outside the B&B well supplied with buses. Would happily stay here again.

Property's Favorite Review
Sometimes when writing a review you worry if you would ever be able to book again. And by this I don’t mean a bad experience, I mean that this place will become even more popular and that we won’t be able to get in. From the welcome at arrival to the room, everything has been throughly thought of to make your stay exemplary. Moving onto the breakfast, well the finest traditional Yorkshire breakfast possibly in Yorkshire. I have never ever seen a fried egg cooked to that perfection. The bed very comfortable, the bathroom to the highest standard with everything you will need thought of. A check in that welcomes you at a time you need to arrive, how thoughtful. When traveling a long way you never quite know how long it will take and knowing you can relax straight away when you arrive is simply perfect. This place is a must in York! And a genuine blooming well done to the owners for making it the perfect night away in the beautiful York. At a price point that is affordable for most, at a time which is difficult for all under the cost of living currently. Will we be back oh yes! That’s if we can get in.

We had a lovely greeting upon arrival and an informative introduction to both the area and the house itself, where we were shown to our room. The heat control in the room was incredible with a ceiling fan to keep us cool in the rooms warm climate The room was also accompanied with tray of snacks, teas and coffee as well as make up remover, cotton bud and cotton pads. The room itself was very comfortable and we had a very enjoyable stay in York!

Fantastic stay over New year weekend in this lovely b&b (although I would argue that it is more of a quality, small hotel). Warm welcome on arrival from Fiona and Ricardo. Warm, comfortable room with all the facilities we needed, plus lots of other little touches that made our stay even better. Delicious breakfast with so much choice, served in their beautifully decorated dining room. An easy 20 minute walk into the city centre or plenty of buses heading in as well. All in all we had a really great couple of days here and wouldn't hesitate to come back. Thanks for a relaxing weekend.

We stayed at Ashbourne house for 3 nights and what a gem of a place it was. From the minute we arrived we were given a warm welcome by Fiona and Ricardo to the moment we left. The room was immaculately clean with a feel like home. I had one of the best nights sleep in the comfiest of beds. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had with a wide range of cereals, fruit, yogurts, juices and cooked items. Little touches like chocolates, sweets and tea, coffee and sugar supplies on each floor was greatly appreciated. We will definitely be returning.

Felt welcome from the moment we arrived, room was lovely, warm (very cold and frosty day) and clean albeit a little small. Couldn’t walk into the city along the river as it had flooded so a 20/30 mins along the road or you could catch the bus for £2. Breakfast tasty, plenty of options in the airy dining room. Enjoyable couple of days, would stay again but choose one of the bigger rooms, that said for a 2 night stay it was ok so don’t let that out you off. Christmas market not too big, enjoyable and not overcrowded but it was Wednesday I guess the crowds would be there weekend.
