Hotel's Favorite
We stayed here in March 2023. The hotel was empty apart from us taking up 2 rooms (unless we missed other guests). The hotel was lovely but it was just very tired. It really does need some updating, but we totally understand that what with Covid and the earthquakes Lombok suffered, recovery has been slow. The rooms were clean and tidy. Only issue we had was that we struggled with the wifi. Each time it went out, we contacted reception and they managed to get it going again, but it was a regular gripe that it would only last for a short time and then have to be reset. Not the end of the world, but we did chose a hotel with wifi as we need to be in contact with work. Due to the lack of guests at the hotel they were running a very limited menu which wasn’t even open of an evening. Again, we understand that the costs of keeping it open for the minimal guests is not cost effective. However, we would have liked to know before we booked. Luckily, we found a very lovely restaurant (The Office) just over the road. Our friends had been here twice in previous years and therefore know how lovely this hotel used to be. We hope it manages to recover and get back to where it once was.

We stayed here over xmas and new yr we had originally booked to stay in mataram for a few nights 1st then kebun villas were picking us up to stay with them for the new yr we were not happy with the hotel in mataram and thankfully kebun helped us out and we stayed there for our whole stay in lombok thankyou kebun villas. We had stayed here in 2013 not much had changed the pool is lovely the food in the restaurant was amazing the room was large and clean if there was anything it was that there were not many lounges to sit on near the pool and no umbrellas to protect you from the sun. This hotel is cheap cheerful and was definitely worth the money and the staff were very good.

We (couple) stayed at the Kebun Villas and Resort for 10 days, using it as a base from which to explore Lombok and we loved it. Comfortable, clean and quiet. The resort, only a short walk from the beach and on a quiet and tranquil hillside was perfect for us to retreat to after full days of sightseeing, island-hopping, snorkelling or bush-walking. While in Lombok, we visited a couple of other resorts (5 stars) and while some were on the beach itself or had bigger and better pools for kids, the rooms were generally smaller and older than ours and many had minor plumbing/cooling problems and other little niggles that ours didn't, but cost considerably more. The views of the mountains and forest from the balcony rooms really afford a feeling of seclusion, with very little night time noise of the town. The gardens are quite natural and invite many little native birds to flit about around the infinity pool and shady lawns as you relax or have a swim. The staff were generally helpful, though somewhat laissez-faire with time-keeping, but always smiling and friendly. The 'restaurant' makes for an OK breakfast stop if you have things to do and don't have time to go out, but the cafe at the front of the resort makes the best coffee in Lombok and the food was very much better than in the resort. To get to the beach, you'll need to walk down the hill, past the Marriott and through the Arts Market where the local women sell the most delicious street food from 5pm on weekends. There is another option though. Visitors can buy a day pass to the Marriott resort (directly opposite Kebun) for about 150,000 rph ($15 Aus) which gives you full buffet breakfast, bar, pool access and beach access (including towels ect) all day. Do the maths. It's also right beside some fantastic beach warrungs so its only a 40 metre walk on the beach to buy cheap lunches, dinners and drinks. Outside the front gates of Kebun on the left there is a small travel stand. We used the guys there for all our day trips and they were happy to take us to many of the natural springs, forests, national parks and villages that tourists don't often visit, which we loved. We found them to be very honest, reliable and reasonably priced (though you should haggle). Ask for Billy. Overall, we were very pleased with our choice to stay at Kebun villas and would prefer to stay there again over many higher-rated resorts on Lombok.

Well as nice as this place is you need to be fit like a mountain goat as it is not a flat resort.. quite a steep ramp takes you up to the pool area then you have steep steps up to your rooms. Note there is no railing on the stairs and no balcony fence so quite dangerous. There aren't any stairs or railing to help you in and out of the pool making it quite difficult . But can really recommend spending the extra money and stay in the villas, that's a whole different luxurious experience and the pool has easy stairs access. The breakfast is limited so don't expect a big buffet here.

So dissatisfied, come here because pool looks great, can't swim.... the pool is extremely dirty. The reception staff had no explanation, simply a shrug of shoulders, and that was it. I stayed here in 2016 and it was excellent condition then. It my opinion not good enough.

Stayed at Kebun hotel for a few days, so peaceful, room was clean ,spacious, water pressure shower was great, & hot, biggest ,longest pool, great, breakfast was good device staff efficient,, friendly, could improve on the croissants, & muffins, chewy, may be a new recipe,!! Its Not far walking distance to main part of Senggigi, where there's small shops, & restaurants, Art market, has 3restaurants one good Spices, eat there a couple of times, but a little inconsistent,, but overall good, would recommended Kebun hotel ,but I don't think it meet's the requirements of a 4 Star hotel, as they say they are, compared to other 4 star properties, but Nice.

I was attracted by the view of this hotel in their website. I was worried that we wouldn’t get the view as in the photos. In fact, the room and the view were 10 times better in reality. We couldn’t believe how good the location is. It’s in the main part of Sengigi but tucked away out of the busy road. When you were inside by the pool the view of surrounding trees and green hill give an essence of nature tranquility. It felt like I was away in a forest. The breakfast menu was good, noting how inexpensive this hotel was. We arranged a pickup from the airport which was rather expensive but worth for getting away from other taxi drivers noise and it was an hour drive. All in all, this hotel is worth more than its price tag.

We were really disappointed with this resort. The pictures promoting this place are a vast difference from what the reality is like. The resort and room were very dated. The place is in bad need of refurbishing. Most of the items displayed on the menu were unavailable at the restaurant. Don’t bother wanting to have a drink there either because they didn’t have any alcohol except Bintang beer (although the menu said otherwise). There aren’t many places nearby to walk out to for meals either. The area is pretty dead. The bathroom had a bad stench every time we had our bath, probably due to the drainage not being cleaned in a while. We will definitely not be returning to this place.
