Being budget travelers, we've had some shockers in our time, this was one of them. To avoid an essay, here are only some of what we encountered: Waited at the gate on a dangerous, isolated part of a main regional road for 19mins after our call before someone came walking down and opened up - very dangerous, especially with a 2 year old. This friendly old man was the only person on the entire property. First things we noticed was that the entire place was run down. We were then told that the restaurant and ladies bar we're not operational (not stated on website or communication). Luckily we brought some braai things just in case, except the braai thing was completely falling apart and broken with no grid (other units didn't even have this, also misled on the website with the BBQ facilities listed). Were told owner would bring us a braai when he gets back later. WIth the chalet: 3 x globes were blown, kitchen light was flickering like a rave party strobe, there was a layer of furniture oil everywhere, making everything wet and oily to the touch, even on the torn couches and it made the floors super slippery (our 2 year old slipped 3 times), the oven hat rat droppings in the warmer drawer that stank when we switched it on, there was no dishwashing liquid, a 47cm tv from 19-voetsek with the R29.00 DSTV package, there was rattex in a floor cupboard waiting to be found by a kid, the toilet was leaking and we had to empty a plastic container a couple of times in the 18 hours we were there and so on and so on. We later scouted and found a braai at the empty main house when it got dark and no one came. We loaded it in our vehicle ourselves because we had to eat and all that. With the sounds of the cars by the road, we started the evening. The owner arrived later, inebriated from the pub with a glass of whiskey and some wood and requested dishwash liquid, as we needed to wash some of the dirty pots in the cupboard. He was friendly, but that was it. We went driving around the game farm ourselves and found the roads very overgrown with bush, scratching our vehicle and not seeing much game. None of the pathway lights between the units were working. The cages were the other animals were once kept were open, broken and overgrown and the only pen that had anything was the crocodile pen, with no warning or anything, we just stumbled upon it with 3 crocs. It was a bit like a ghost-town/farm scenario and very creepy. All in all, after giving the old man a lift to the gate the next day to open for us, we were very relieved to have left. I'm sure the place was way better a couple of years ago (when pictures were taken), but it is forgotten and shouldn't be advertised. Pity we drove so far for a one night escape and had to deal with that - would love my money refunded at least - never again and shame on you!…
W domku w którym mieszkaliśmy był czysty, zadbany i bardzo wygodne. Mieliśmy wspaniały widok z tarasu. Czysty basen dla dzieci i bass dam dla taty wędkowanie. Niezwykłe życie ptaków, z hornbill przyjeżdża do nas. Na pewno odwiedzę ponownie!
