We stayed here for 3 nights. Rafael the owner picked us up form the airport, and we has a warm welcome from him with garlands. When we got to the hotel they served us fresh lemon juice, which was so refreshing. The hotel has magnificent views, you are right on the ocean front, from your rooms you can see and hear the ocean. You can open the sliding doors in the room and sit out, there is a patio area in front of our room, with a table and chairs. The views are magnificent, so close to the ocean. It's breathtaking, scenic and hot, so relaxing. Room was a good size with enough storage / unpacking space. Bathroom was fine too, but shower was just warm not hot. There is no Air Con, but we did not need it, the temperature was perfect. They do provide a fan in the room if needed. There is also a small fridge in the room. Wi-Fi not so good, but that is probably all over the island. Breakfast was very limited and was only a selection of breads, eggs, coffee. This hotel only as 3 free standing bungalow style cabins.

This place has only 3 free standing units yet it calls itself a hotel? The back sliding glass door lock was broken to the unit we were in. We notified the cleaning lady. She was the only person there. The owner was notified but nothing was done to fix the problem. We checked out and left after nothing was done. The unit did not have air conditioning and was unbearable. We were told that AC could be put in but after getting there we were told it would do no good. Don’t stay here unless your desperate!

First, this is not a hotel or the definition of hotel in the dictionary, but rather 3 small cottages/Bungalow rooms. We arrived around 9:30 am and paid the hotel bill. Our room was not ready so we went to breakfast. After returning from breakfast, the checkin/cleaning lady took us to our room. The room was unbearable hot just to be in room for 5 minutes, it must have been over 100 degrees. After opening the sliding glass door, there was absolutely NO breeze at all with the door open. After opening the sliding door we found the door would not lock and the glass came apart from the door frame. Also, there was no screen. As soon as we walked on the patio a couple of wet dogs came up on the patio and we had to shut the sliding door to keep them from entering. It was unbearable to stay in the room more than 5 minutes with or without door open as no breeze. The checkin lady was aware that the door would not lock and told us that the area was safe and we did not have to worry about locking the door. I asked the check-in lady to contact the owner about repairing the door that this was not satisfactory. Finally the owner brother showed up and gave us the same tune that the area was safe and not to worry about locking the door. He said the last people that were there broke the door (he was aware the door would not lock). We insisted the door should be repaired. The owner brother left and later the owner showed up and promised he would have door repaired. He did not think it was necessary to repair door either, but we were told the lock to the door would be repaired and the repairman was coming right away. We also told the owner how unbearably hot the room was with no screen to keep mosquitoes and meandering dogs out. On correspondence with the owner prior to arrival, I had questioned the owner about no air condition and he said he would provide a portable a/c for USD 20 if we needed it. Now the owner said portable a/c WOULD NOT keep room cool enough so that was not an option. So with that information, we took a taxi downtown leaving our luggage unlocked in the room, we felt like we needed a nap from our flight, but it was just too hot in the room. We came back in afternoon and door lock was still not repaired. Later the owner brother showed up again and said he would have door repaired. We told him the room was unbearable hot and there was no screen to keep mosquitoes and meandering dogs out at night when we were sleeping. How are we going to sleep with the door shut as it was over 100 degrees in the room? (There are a lot of loose dogs in Easter Island.) It was too hot to stay in the room so we decided to eat dinner at the hotel. (It’s really not a hotel but more like a B&B, but just 3 small Bungalow/cottage rooms). After we ate dinner, the door still was not repaired and no portable a/c as promised in writing on At this point, we concluded the door was not going to be repaired or anytime soon. The door lock looked like it had been broken for some time and it seemed to me other customers had to put up with the same thing. So we had no choice but to find another hotel. I booked another place on on my phone. Therefore, we had to pay for two hotels!!! I certainly would not choose this hotel (bungalow) ever again if we came back to Easter Island.

these three basic connected cabins have a spectacular ocean view thru the sliders that lead to your private deck. the brothers that run the property are most helpful. I experienced one issue during my stay that was resolved by the time I got back from dinner. I have to admit that the issue regarding my sliding door put me in a crap mood but the proprietor was quite gracious in spite of myself. Again the door was fixed in less than two hrs. the included breakfast was quite nice and served on the properties covered ocean view patio. these places are basic but they do have some good style. They are also clean and did I mention the million dollar views. I could hear the waves crashing at night. Speaking of night I would invite people to take an opportunity to navigate the evening heavens. stars are quite spectacular.
