Stayed one night while on a European touring holiday. The room was OK but the restaurant experience was poor. The bar staff (who also served our meal) were grumpy to the point of being rude. We were a group of nine and between us ordered seven streaks for dinner. Some ordered medium, some medium rare and one ordered "a point". When delivered to our table they were all the same, the serving staff made no attempt to distinguish between them and even argued that "a point" was medium. Also there was a lot of building work going on so the outside seating area was rough and some of the internal work was obviously incomplete. The attached photograph shows exposed wiring on our bedside light. Sadly I wouldn't recommend this hotel took my family or friends.

We stayed here in May '17. We chose this hotel from the possibilities within our BONGO coupon because dogs were allowed. We arrived way earlier than expected (hotel was easily found), were kindly greeted and let into our room. The room did not have a hotel feel to it, rather seemed like a youth hostel. There was no water provided. Though pretty neat and clean, a bath with a shower curtain doesn't provide for a comfy or clean feeling. The lady that greeted us strongly recommended us to have our dinner at the restaurant (Les Gamines), adding to it that we better made reservations as she expected it to be a very busy evening. After checking out the menu online, we did reserve a table for the two of us. Boy, had we known, we never would have done this! (More details in my review of Les Gamines). The hotel is a rather long building facing the railway station of Poix-St-Hubert. Unfortunately, even though this is a particularly small village, there is a train coming through as good as every hour. Which evidently will keep you awake at night if you keep the windows open (not opening them was no solution due to the heat). The noise from other guests passing in the hall is very audible, at night there were a lot of noisy (drunken) tourists. So not only the heat or noise from trains, but also the blabbing and stumbling of fellow hotel guests ruined our night's rest. The breakfast was again served at the restaurant Les Gamines right next door. As our dinner from the previous evening had definitely not been a success, we weren't expecting much. There were two types of bread or a (dried out) baguette to choose from. A muesli-like sort of corn flakes were served but they tasted stale. Some sliced cheese, ham and jam were available. Disappointingly, no local specialties were offered, although it is well know for its meat products (especially venison, wild boar or trout). Overall, hotel staff (we only talked to two different women) was friendly. Restaurant staff a lot less. Room was okay in size, we were glad we could bring our pet. We weren't very well rested; nor dinner or breakfast met our expectations. Nice area for walks and visits, but next time we won't be booking a stay in this hotel.

We stopped here for one night as we were passing on the motorway on our way to Austria. The hotel has a gorgeous setting with a river running through it. The room was good value for money as we booked it last minute. Unfortunately when we got to our room it was already occupied but this was quickly sorted. The room was large and clean. The best thing was the breakfast which was served in the lovely bistro. It was a fantastic array of fresh breads, cheeses, meats, yoghurt, apple pies, nuts, yoghurt - the list goes on and on. Great value.

First things first: one part of the hotel is next to a train station, so be aware of possible noise. Apart from that the hotel is quite comfortable. It's not luxurious but accommodates well. Clean rooms and a nice varied breakfast.

The hotel is in a village a few miles outside St Hubert and there isn't much else nearby. The setting is beautiful, with buildings on each bank of a small river (the Poix) linked by a private bridge. The river valley is quite deep though, so there are lots of steps (and no lift) and it wouldn't be suitable for anyone with limited mobility. Our room looked down onto the river, a fabulous view. The room was quite large with quirky furniture (eg a rotating wardrobe). The bathroom had a full-sized bath but no door and was directly opposite the door into the corridor, which made for a certain feeling of vulnerability when bathing - but hey, ho, maybe I'm being too British. We gave breakfast a miss since they wanted to charge a swingeing €15 per person. The restaurant (where we ate dinner) is quite good but on the pricey side. Efficient, helpful staff, although they did seem to be spread a bit thin.

The hotel has 2 sides. The main reception area where the reception and the much appreciated restaurant is located. The 2nd side is by the train station on the other side of the river and it is connected to the main side by a small bridge. We had a double room on the new side (by the station). The rooms are spacious and basic modern. Being on the street side we could hear the cars and trains passing by. For us this was not a major disturbance. On the other hand the rooms were quite hot! Somehow the floor was hot, most probably from the bathroom piping. The provided ventilators were very much appreciated! Good position, nice surroundings and the restaurant are the strong points of this hotel. Enjoy your stay and certainly try their Restaurant!

I'm hesitant about my rating : We will be definitely coming back, because we really loved the surroundings : it's a perfect spot for looong walks in the forest or on the riverbank - beautiful nature! The hotel is located in a small ardenese village, overlooking a charming river where's nothing to do but walk/cycle around:-) The noise of passing trains (some 4 trains per hour) didn't bother us, on the contrary we liked the fact we didn't need a car and we could come by train. This being said, the noise isolation was reather poor - we were given one of the "calmest rooms", but could still hear everything, including the noise coming out of the restaurant downstairs (which we really recomend, BTW! not cheap, but good food, ultra quick service...). The overall value for money was rather average, a costly breakfast and a simple functional room with no particular charm whatsoever. In total, some 100 euros for two...

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days. This charming hotel is beautifully located at Poix-Saint-Hubert, some 5 kilometers from Saint-Hubert and easy to reach. Rooms are clean, simple and comfortable and have nice views. Staff is very friendly. There is a very good restaurant on site with excellent wines; here you choose your wine directly from the cellar instead of from the wine list.

We booked this hotel Last minute for a long weekend away. We stayed there 2 nights. upon arriving into what was supposed to be our room, we heard the next door neighbours talk so went back to reception to see if we could have another room and we could. The rooms are almost perfectly clean (spiderwebs in corners) and well equipped, though we booked this particular hotel as it was advertised we would have a tub in the bathroom but no such luck. No separation between door communicating with the corridor so can be a bit loud when people return from dinner. Breakfast was enough, but a little bit more variety would have been nice. Staff friendly, good restaurant and nice beer assortment. Ask for a room facing the water if possible, such a nice scenery

This is a very simple hotel. 60euro per night breakfast included. The room was clean but a little bit aged. Nice people have welcomed me. The breakfast is nominal. The Reception close around 22:00 so if you arrive late make a call in advance.
