What travelers are saying
- eklamb93Saranac, MI52 contributionsWe are so glad we found this place that was recommended by Tripadvisor for the Charlston, SC area. It's worth a stop. You have to pay $10 for parking, but it's a nice beach with places to wash off and nice restrooms.Written April 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cosmopolitan719583Bowling Green, KY13 contributionsBeach was nice. Parking was tricky just have to drive around and hopefully find a place to park close to a beach access crossing. I was hoping to find handicap (for a member in our group )access area but was not successful in doing so, not saying there wasn’t one we just did not find it. We had a wheelchair but of course they don’t do well in sand. But we took our time and we made it to the beach and was able to spend about 2 hours before the rains came down. There is no food or drink available on the beach so bring your own. The drive from Charleston wasn’t bad at all. Call days ahead to Chunkys beach rentals for umbrellas and chairs.Written August 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katherine A, The Hidden TurtleRaleigh, NC7 contributionsThis is a great beach. Water is warm, clean beachfront. Dogs are off leash here when we went, so if you are not a dog person it can be annoying having them run up to you.
But other than that it’s a wonderful beach with plenty to do and not busy if you get there early enough. We went September.Written October 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Don’t bother going to the beach, shops or restaurants as there is no place to park and you are not welcomed.
"We're doing what our residents wanted us to do." - Mayor Jimmy Carroll during the July 28th Isle of Palms meeting.
He's referring to the surprise ordinance to restrict parking that was passed in the emergency meeting on 7/15 that received absolutely NO public input. And after hearing an avalanche of comments to the contrary.Written July 28, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They have an extensive pro shop with the most fashionable clothing I have seen in a long time.
Bad: We hated our rental clubs. They charge top dollar, but the clubs were reeeally beat up. We were expecting clubs in much newer-condition similar to those we have rented at other resorts.
Meh: We thought we would be able to see the ocean from more holes; if I remember correctly, it's more like the 17th green and all the way on down 18.
All in all, a fine place to play, but take your own clubs if possible.Written September 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ejoyner83Plant City, FL67 contributionsThe sunset dolphin Cruise was the highlight of our week long trip to Charleston. The naturalist was great with kids. We saw dolphins, blue crabs, stone crabs, tons of shells and a beautiful sunset. Capers Island was amazing and I wish I would've had more time to explore it. You will not be disappointed with this.Written March 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Juli1 contributionMy girlfriends and I used Coastal Limo and Taxi for my bachelorette trip in Charleston. We had such a good experience with Tommy. He was very reliable, we used him for several days of our trip to get around and to the airport.
