What travelers are saying
- Amrita KBinsted, UK2 contributionsViews will bring tears.
Beauty beyond, the Island stately home brings such stories that nostalgia warms to.
The pleasant staff bring this all to life. Nothing is a single day, we will return soon.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They are actually Mongoose but it seems nobody knows where the name Meerkat came from.
A talk that is not to be missed
Monkeys were a fantastic sight & the Owls will surprise you.
Great tea room.
All in all this is a must see attraction.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As part of donkey experience we got to muck out bedding, change bedding , groom donkeys, talk to several and pet them. Highlight had to be feeding the donkey I had sponsored and meeting her! Need to wear wellies when doing experience!Written March 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jet564308137 contributionsWe enjoyed our visit here very much.
The staff were friendly. It doesn't take long to get around but you can go around again and there's no one to rush you out.
It was fairly quiet as was the last day of the season (29th October)
We bought a guide book but there was no pressure to do so.
The model village is well maintained and is a delight to walk around. There's a 1 way system and most people kept to it.
The trains were lovely as was the majority of the models. The weather was absolutely dreadful but that did not spoil our visit overall.
There wasn't anywhere to get a hot drink etc but that's probably because it was the end of the season.
You will probably spend at least an hour here, more on a sunny day perhaps.
I would recommend this to all age groups.
Prices aren't bad all considered.
There is also a lovely gift shop to visit.
A must to see whilst visiting the Isle of Wight.Written November 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The people are really friendly and there is so many places to visit. The needles. The steam train adventure. Shanklin. Sandown. Cowes. And God's hill.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SEB219 contributionsThe Wildheart Animal Sanctuary is very good, really worth a visit.
Sadly the Cafe is not .. clean and well maintained.. unfortunately the food was not..
we ordered a chicken burger which was like dough and stodgy and not edible… hours later and we are suffering from trying it a little.
Also the menu on the boards are very difficult to read and it was not mentioned when we ordered that chips came with the meal… seriously why would two adults and two children need eight portions of chips and no one mentioned or questioned why we had ordered so much… we never finished and just left .. will visit the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary but will not eat there.Written February 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Far more beautiful are the multicolored sand cliffs on the Pebble Beach nearby. They are truly stunning, best admired from the pier, where boats depart to get a closer look at the Needles. My grandson loved the 30 minute ride on the speedboat Summer Rose, felt safe, life jackets are a must. There is a chairlift repurposed from a ski resort bringing tourists down to the beach during two minute ride, or walkways and stairs down the cliff side can be used. The rides up in the amusement park section looked past their prime, and luckily were closed at the time we arrived, but the Sand Shop, where glass containers can be filled up with layers of colored sand was still open so my granddaughter could create her kitty cat souvenir. We did not stop to eat here.Written October 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- rmwsaysChichester, UK5 contributionsThis is a lovely spot. So peaceful that the birds are very content to be singing there. The pigs are more of a problem in their defensive oinking. Dogs seem to love being able to bark at them.
The only downer was I got there at 4pm closing time and could not get a coffee. Great view of the sea from a slope and the old Abbey remains are still just about there, despite the best efforts of Henry VIII.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lucy TIsle of Wight, UK295 contributionsI found the staff to be friendly and we enjoyed going on the biggest ride on the Isle of Wight - Extinction! It was quite scary as an adult, let alone a child! Evolution drop tower was also fun and gave a good view across the park and coastline. The water slides are great too. Walking through the vortex was such an experience I had to repeat it! All in all an enjoyable 5 hours.Written October 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Naomi MWarsash, UK18 contributionsI took my 11 year old son while we were on holiday. We went for the pumpkin festival which was free but my son really wanted to go into the farm. Knowing he’s too old for farms now I had my reservations especially as it was around £30 for the 2 of us but it was brilliant and worth every penny. There is so much to do and all included in the price, even for older kids. He spent most of his time bouncing on a huge inflatable. We ran out of time in the end and didn’t do it all. He wants to come back next time we’re hereWritten October 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Abi L1 contributionThank you Charlotte and Mike for our One Hour Falconry Experience. We learnt so much in a short space of time with all of your facts and knowledge. You both had a great sense of humour which made it even more memorable and we can’t wait to come back! Also we really appreciated you squeezing us in last minute, and loved watching the public displays before and after our private experience. Your birds are clearly well looked after, seeing each of them fly was just incredible. Thank you for a great day out 😊Written November 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
