What travelers are saying
- Mary SCleveland, OH58 contributionsWe enjoyed our time at Buffalo Trace. The free tour we took was great and we were luckily to walk up the same day to get the tickets. Our guide Rae was fantastic and kept the whole group engaged the entire time. The tasting included was also very enjoyable. The first day we visited the gift shop was not too busy, but it was later in the day. We stopped by the next morning to grab a few additional items and they were selling Blanton's that day so we ended up waiting about an hour in line, but the good news was the line moved the entire time.Written March 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Smorbitzer2022Columbus, OH8 contributionsEngaging staff and interesting history of the distillery. I finally found a martini I liked! I found it so interesting that the real estate crash of 2008 saved the castle.Written March 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - greeneyes630Maugansville, MD687 contributionsWell maintained beautiful cemetery. We stopped on a Sunday afternoon, the visitor center was closed, but we were able to drive or walk around. - Leah BLexington, KY1 contributionAbsolutely awesome experience! Our tasting was led by the owner who provided an education in history, bourbon production, and marketing. - JohnLas Vegas, NV1 contributionI checked out the New Capitol building last week and was in awe of both the architecture and the history inside of its four walls. I was very fortunate to meet Scott Johnson, a Kentucky State Capitol tour guide.
Scott not only knows the building and its history inside and out.....but it is evident that he has such a passion for it and it shows in his storytelling. It's not just facts and figures he recites, but a full narrative showcasing the people that made this building and the characters they were....plus the international lengths they strived to in it's construction.
Scott is an incredible asset to the Commonwealth of Kentucky and history is a vivid and tangible element when he guides you through the building.
I'll be back to enjoy his tour when I return!Written September 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have personally been on a tour a number of years before and found it worthwhile. Unfortunately my sister who was with me had not. Still we were able to sample some candy. To be honest the candy can be somewhat pricey but it is good. The bourbon balls are a favorite. If visiting the new capitol building it’s not too far away on 2nd Street.Written August 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Porthos7West Chester, OH6,319 contributionsThis wildlife education center is exactly what it says it is - and it's incredible! Great for the young and older, it IS handicap accessible, and you'll need about 2 hours to experience everything. Great number of things to see and do both indoors and out. Go and enjoy!Written November 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
