- PannipanniniMaryland1,292 contributionsThis is a fanatic park. The scenery is beautiful and one-of-a-kind if you access it the right way. First, do the Mátai Ménes tour (70-80 min), mataimenes.hu. It’s scenic and entertaining. Second, do the walk around the Hortobágy Halastó. You can take the train and walk back, walk there and buy ticket to go back OR for the really adventurous do the entire loop (one way to the end of the train line is 3 miles/5 km). The whole loop is 8 miles/12.8 km). You see more beauty and can become part of the land yourself. Menj ahova a madár se jár! Or you can also bike it (you need thick tires).Written July 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tina Z677 contributionsIt is a staple in Debrecen and cannot be missed in your walk throughout the city. I did not go inside, but it's good to know that at certain times it is possible go inside, but you have to purchase a ticket. Something I recommend if you are not going inside is that at least you enter the little pyramid aside, near the hungarian flag pole because it is interesting to see a bell represention inside the wall and it is indicative of the fact that inside that church, or so they say, they have the biggest bell in Hungary.Written June 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tina Z677 contributionsThe park is very nice, there is a lot of green, a lake where there are fish and birds. The paths in the park are nicely arranged and even when it's sunny you can find some shade. There are a lot of places like benches to sit down if you get tired of walking around. There is also a place to get ice cream, a few coffee shops, some sort of a stage in the middle of the park. It is very close to the University, so you can also visit that if you aren nearby. It honestly reminded me a little bit of Maksimir Park in Zagreb, Croatia, so if you know the place, you will probably like this .Summa summarum, if you like parks and walking, it is greatly recommended to visit this park.Written June 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JoeBudapest, Hungary3,378 contributionsThe Deri Museum is one of the most prominent and oldest museums in Hungary, located in Debrecen. The museum was founded in 1912 by the local humanist, Frigyes Deri. The museum has a vast collection of Hungarian and international art, historical artifacts, and natural history specimens.
The museum's art collection features works from famous Hungarian artists, such as Mihály Munkácsy, László Mednyánszky, and József Rippl-Rónai, as well as international artists, including El Greco, Rubens, and Titian. In addition to art, the museum also houses historical artifacts, including weapons, costumes, and coins from various historical periods.
Overall, Deri Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in Hungarian history and art. The museum's impressive collection, beautiful building, and knowledgeable staff make for a truly memorable experience.Written March 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It looks majestic and the fountain in front of it looks nice, unfortunately it was not working when we visited. Also, we visited when some university thingy was happening, there were a lot of students, some concerts and a lot of stands with flags from all around the world, so accidentaly we experienced some University spirit. It is, as far as I know, the greatest University in Hungary and also one of the good places to study abroad.Written June 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tina Z677 contributionsThe stadium looks great, the seats and stairs were clean. Around the stadium there is some sort of boardwalk that leads to entrances, but you can also use it to stroll around and have some great views of the surroundings, especially of the Water tower. We watched a game of U17 Football European Championship there and heard the football pitch itself is also great and overall experience was great. The only fault I found was that at the entrances sometimes the QR codes are not working properly, for example, I submitted my entrance ticket on mobile phone from PDF document and it did not want to scan it, however, the paper one, it scanned without any problem.Written June 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tripsntricks.roRomania806 contributionsThis zoo is located near a stadium, you cand find a few parking spots in front of it, the machines used for parking fee (450HUF per hour) are working with coins. I was trying to use it and paying by card but I failed in finishing this. 2 hours should be enough if you do not have kids with you and also depends if the weather conditions. A tip for parking it will be the street behind the enterence gate from the zoo, near a hotel and a kurtos kiosk- free of charge.
Different types of enterence fees. A common one is 2500 HUF.
You can pay also by card, you will receive a map and you are ready to explore the wilderness in captivity :)
You will find some animals, you can also buy food to feed them. There are some spots where you can rest.
Toilets you can find inside, well marked.
You can see a lot of birds, hippopotamuses, giraffes, lions, pinguins, kangaroos, emu, monkeys and so on.Written April 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It consists of demonstrations by Hungarian "cowboys" and their very well trained horses. Individual horsemen showed off their and their horses talents. Some horse teams were also featured. Well worth seeing.Written October 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- themanc37Manchester, UK29 contributionsVisited with2 young kids.
Really enjoyable few hours spent here using the interactive exhibits.
Something for all ages.
Definitely worth a visit.
There were a few exhibits not working while we were there, hence why only 4 stars, but would certainly visit again
Good instructions in English, although all the demonstrations except 1 were in Hungarian.

Great and friendly staff who worked there! Cost 900 Ft for an adult ticket and 500 Ft for my student girlfriend.Written October 20, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tina Z677 contributionsIt is a beautiful church, outside and inside. I was lucky enough to find it open so I had to venture inside a little and I am glad I did it because it is really pretty, you do not have to be a believer to enjoy all the nice aesthetics.Written June 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - laczkozsuDebrecen, Hungary1,678 contributionsThis statue is located in Kossuth square, in front of the Great Church. It's a calm place in the heart of the city with lots of flowers, benches and a fountain. You can relax here and drink a coffee or eat an ice cream. Lajos Kossuth was one the greatest Hungarian Leader. They wanted to get independence. His famous chair is inside the Great Church.Written June 13, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
