What travelers are saying
- ilBuckeyeArlington Heights, IL267 contributionsLarge castle complex, nice for walking and biking. Castle palace museum has interesting collection of medieval, paintings and some art, and you can see small chapel. There are other exhibits you can pay extra for to view in other castle complex buildings. The torture museum was lame, would advise skipping it.Written June 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - romeoqiunt36 contributionsThe old medieval town is now beautifully restored and renovated, primarily this used to be moat of the fortress. Perfect antidote to the Burghausen castle complex. There are plenty of shops with lots of brands. Do not forget about many caffes and
restaurants, since there is such a collection. For Jazz lovers, there is also the "Jazz Street" in the manner of Walk of fame, since Jazz festival is taking place here quite often.Written November 25, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Umut YAnkara, Türkiye219 contributionsWell, it seems like this will be the first English review on Woehrsee but I won't say anything different than the German reviews. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the nature. The lake is really clean and has a great view from the castle. The facility is really good and extremely chep. I you catch a good weather and have time, you must swimm in the lake and lay on the beautiful grass.Written September 2, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - romeoqiunt36 contributionsThe first floor was the Duke residence, with some original pieces of furniture and weapons and decorations of the period. Second floor comprises of mostly religious art. On the third floor there are huge historical paintings, 10 m wide, portraying important events from the history of Duchy of Bavaria.
If you decide to climb all the way to the top, you will be awarded with the stunning view all along to the southern Austrian Alp.Written November 25, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From there the very fine view is opening towards the old part of the town and it stands out of the castle complex.Written November 25, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rambling LawyerGlendale, CA299 contributionsThe church on grounds of Raitenhaselach monastery is well worth the visit. The exterior is in need of TLC but the exterior has been restored to early grandeur. Colorful and extravagant Baroque ornamentation will not disappoint.Written August 26, 2012This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
