The place itself is beautiful and amazing., but not a place to take a dip. The waves are too strong., rocky and too much sand. We went to the rock formations and around 4-6 pm the waves crashing around creates a misty background. Enjoyed a morning pictorial too :)

Great beach for swimming, warm waters, clean beach. Not very lively though, but not sure if it's a cultural thing or if I went on the wrong day. I enjoyed my morning and loved that they had showers and restaurants available.

This beach during actual beach season gets cleaned regularly and thanks to natural rock barriers the waves are very mild and make for easy swimming. It is usually packed with families on the weekends.

In off season the beach doesn't get cleaned much and thus becomes almost impossible to walk on without stepping on something.

Great in beach season, horrible for anything during off season.

Like I said packed with families and thus may not be the best place for a group of friends.

A great place to enjoy the views of the Pacific Ocean, the Matsu-ga-iso coastline is good for a stroll or a picnic. It has its own distinguishing landmark – white Okishima Torii Gates standing on the tiny island a few meters away from the shore. What people might not know is that, depending on the flow of the tide, the scenery can change drastically. At low tide, the ocean reveals a narrow path, a phenomenon often called the ‘angels road’ by many Japanese people.

When the tide ebbs enough, some local people make their way to the island, wading through the water in order to collect molluscs and seaweed. Fascinated by the scene, we watched an old lady, crooked with age, who determinedly marched into the ocean waters with her long net scoop, a stick and a huge canvas bag,

Matsu-ga-iso coastline is located right behind the Mollusco Mugi Museum, a museum exhibiting shells and fossils from around the world. There is also a short promenade path along the coast, leading to Furumugi dike, which reveals a very peaceful domestic harbor.
