This is the second time we have visited El Rompido for a golf break. It is clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the food is delicious. The staff in the clubhouse were accommodating when we wanted to change tee times (due to the inclement weather). The clubhouse is well stocked and the food is good.

Both the North and South course were well maintained and delightful to play.

We stayed at the Nuevo Portil golf resort, for 7 nights, and played the course 3 times. It's a good, well maintained golf course with a interesting variety of holes, defined by bunkers, water and strategiically placed trees at doglegs.
It doesn't claim to be a Champioship Course, which is honest. The fairways are good and wide and the greens are true, but not too fast.
The course is flat enough to walk with a trolley, but buggies are available.
It has good practise facilities, with a (short) driving range, chipping green with bunkers, and a good putting green.
All the staff, in the Pro Shop and on the course were friendly and helpful.
In April the course was quite busy, but all the other golfers were friendly, and none pf our rounds took more than 4 and a half hours.
    We would play there again.

We had a fun trip here early evening.

20 euros per adult and 17 per child.

It was a bit confusing when you arrive, procedures may have changed due to Covid? You take a photo of a QR code and register yourself and take a photo online. You then go to the office to pay and pick up your ticket. It hadn’t worked properly for two of our party so we had to repeat the process in the office.

We hadn’t realised that we wouldn’t all be racing together- adults and 15yo were in an adult only race and our 13 and 11yos raced afterwards in less powerful karts. (This might be something to consider with younger children, ours were happy to watch us race while they waited unaccompanied.)

It felt very safe, we wore hairnets under the helmets which were returned to be disinfected and the karts were wiped down between uses.

The adults and younger children had a great time, it’s a decent sized track, you can get some speed up and feeling the wind on a hot day is lovely!

We hadn’t realised that our 15yo hadn’t raced before like his brothers; he was in an adult kart and didn’t really feel confident with what he was doing. He came off the track twice and staff came out to help him. He decided not to continue after one circuit, he wasn’t hurt but his pride was dented. A member of staff came over afterwards to check he was ok and told us to go to the office where we were given a full (unrequested) refund for his ticket.

It was a great experience although it’s obviously fairly expensive for 10-15 minutes of entertainment.
